ZBrush v1.5 to be unveiled in July! (polyframe image added: July 4)

 HELLOOO JULY IS HERE!!!

Thank you for your kind feedback  Here are some reactions from artists who have seen the new tool in action…

Hee, hee. :+1:

I still say it’s something different from a metaball/blob though.

It looks to me like it supports symmetrical editing like all the other 3d tools. Every other blob or wax modeller I’ve used doesn’t support symmetry and you end up having to “wing” it.

The one on the left looks like he/she is saying, “Please, gimmee, gimmee, gimmee, pleeeeeeaaaaase.”

Although the one in the back right look like he/she/it’s about to scream.

I’m sure that’s exactly how they are reacting…

I don’t know about them, but I’ll be sitting at the 'puter night and day!!

Pixolator, you forgot to include the sound track…‘HALLELUYA…HALLELUYA…’ or was it ‘ode to joy’. An easier way to create full figures is like the key to the candy store! Thanks for keeping us posted.

By the way, I see this mysterious new tool now has a name.

Long live the ZSphere!

What a great way to introduce the ZSphere!!
Kind of says it all without words…

So I have to wonder, looking awed at these awed-themselves looking models how they were made to be in the other poses without getting all messed up. Nice to meet you, ZSphere!

Congratulations Pixolator on getting the word out --this morning when my email version of AWN’s Animation Flash (newsletter) arrived it contained these wonderful words----

 17. PIXOLOGIC BRUSHES UP WITH ZBRUSH. Pixologic, Inc. will be

unveiling its ZBrush version 1.5 at the upcoming MacWorld Expo 2002
(July 17-19, 2002, Booth #1446) and SIGGRAPH (July 23-25, 2002, Booth
#5048). ZBrush is a 2D and 3D image creation and processing
application, powered by a real-time rendering engine. Based on
proprietary “Pixol” rendering technology, ZBrush enables artists to
paint with color, material, texture and depth as well as manipulate
the canvas and sculpt and texture 3D models. Zbrush offers the
benefit of pixel-to-pixel control (like a 2D painting program), with
the real-time power of 3D modeling and rendering engine (like a 3D
application). The new version of the ZBrush digital art creation
program features a comprehensive collection of 2D and 3D painting,
texturing and modeling tools, enhanced lighting and rendering
options, and a customizable streamlined interface. Pixologic is
offering a limited opportunity to purchase ZBrush at the current
price of US$292.50 and receive a full upgrade to version 1.5 free of
charge. The current version of ZBrush, version 1.23b, is downloadable
online from www.ZBrush.com. Following its release at MacWorld and
SIGGRAPH, ZBrush version 1.5 will retail for US$399.

:+1: :+1:   Yes I know that’s what is called a press release–but it was nice to see it where I’ve never seen it mentioned before !!! :+1:

Gosh you just gotta bring animation in at some stage! Ken dreams of software that would automatically identify the parts of a humanoid shape and know what to do with them when he moves them
Stop teasing us with pics! I can’t stands no more!..well maybe you could show us a wireframe example of the new Zbrush sphere?

Pixolator posted a wireframe image of some stuff that was modelled with the ZSphere that he used for the Enchanted Forest Thread.

Here’s a link to the wireframes. He didn’t post a wireframe image of the ZSphere in its unaltered/unmodelled state though.

Thanks (again  ) for your kind replies .
Here is another ZSphere test-image with polyframe (wireframe) drawing mode active. This image demonstrates the capability to generate both low and high-resolution mesh from the same ZSphere model…
