ZBRUSH:
EPISODE I.V
ATTACK OF THE ZSPHERES
It is a time of great exitement among the Z-Republic as the release of the next ZBRUSH approaches.
Unknown to the ZBRUSHERS, the secret base of PIXOLOGIC is putting more suprises into ZBRUSH than anyone ever dreamed of.
On ZBC, the galactic heart of the Z-Community, members have heard rumors of an alarming new feature in ZBRUSH: the ZSPHERE…
And damn, they are EXCITED!
lol
Man, I know I am not the only one drooling in anticipation here. Haha…

There is one issue that is extremely important to me and several others… Will the new version support exporting to Photoshop with layer transparency?
Does anyone know the answer to this?
LOL, Muvlo. Too funny!
Art Sentinel: There are a couple of tricks that I use to quickly get rid of the background when I need to. One is to use a canvas color that is radically different from the colors in the image, and then use the magic wand in Photoshop to delete that color out. Another approach is to make a depth grab of the canvas, which I export to use as an alpha channel. Modifying the levels lets me convert the gray to white. I then either use it as a mask, or convert it to a selection that I can use to delete the rest of the canvas. Of course, both approaches need to work with a copy of the background layer, rather than the background layer, itself (deleting pixels from the background layer leaves you with your background color rather than transparency).
Pixolator you are sadic! I can’t wait anymore
to get my hands on next update. I will
playing with my new toy all the time:
ZSphere!
Congratulations for the great improvements
you implemented in our beloved ZBrush.
We love you!
Hey pix…shhh…if my calculation is right the big day is…july 17th…right?
from Mars.

Greetings from San Antonio!
I’m here with the Pixologic team, showing off ZBrush to enthusiastic crowds of artists at Siggraph.
At the show, we’re giving people this instruction sheet which describes how to use ZSpheres, and I found a little time to put together a PDF.
Here’s a JPG, or you can click here for the PDF. Enjoy!

Hi Davey! Hope it isn’t too hot and humid there in San Antonio
Thanks for the info!
thnx Davey…I think I understand it…
Thanks Davey, cause mine disappeared somewhere in the mess in my apartment.
here is one very symbolic & enthusiastic:
Woohoo Davey! ZSpheres!!!

Any news on when we might expect V2.0
  pleeeeeeease release the 1.5 soooooon
can’t wait to get my hand on it

Oh my God!!!
This is my dream.
Wonderfull interface!!!

I need to buy this program urgently!!!

Soon, yes?

The zsphere features look very promising. The only thing I’m a bit worried about, is
the resolution on the final models. As with most metaball modelers the final model always has a blobby, uneven finish to it.
That’s what makes the model on the zbrush 1.5 page so intriguing. The dragon model is the cleanest metaball skinning I’ve ever seen. Is that basic zsphere functionality or
am I missing a step.
Anyway, really looking forward to using the new tools
