ZBrush 4R7: Released!

Seems like a great release, really liking the new poly tools.

The Curve Standard brush seems to be broken though, it no longer pulls out the geometry, when you click and drag now it just moves the curve. I’ve tried in both 32 and 64 bit versions, the same action works fine in R6.

I can’t find a way to pull polygons out from edges, which is kind of a bummer as well, since it’s essential for polymodelling and it’s my main tool most of the time. I mean one poly from one edge, not pyramide like the extrude action for edges does. Can I inset group of polygons (by default, action is insetting each polygon from the selected group, not the group itself)?

I don’t believe pulling edges to create polys is in Zmodeler yet. They have said in the documentation that more will probably be added in the future.

You could always create an extrusion, delete the unwanted faces - leaving just one face (recommend having double on), move the vertices and then bridge edges or points. Just a thought. You could also use a basic plane and use the old method of having two polygroups on it, mask one polygroup and then ctrl_drag to extrude. Swap into Zmodeler.

(I presume your comparing to Modo’s Edge Extend Tool or whatever it might be in another package)

As for the Inset, it is there mate. I was playing with it last night. Unfortunately I haven’t got zbrush in front of me, but I think it’s Action: Inset Target: Polygroup Border

I like my Zbrush 4r7. Especialy the 64bit beta. Althought after one day of sculpting 32bit and 64bit started to lag. Brushes are acting wird not like they suppose to and it lags at very low poly count. I tried reinstaling and it did not work out. 4R6 works good at the same time.
I have a phenom 1090T procesor and 16GB of ram with GTX 660 card. Anyboy encoutered same issues? I have Already written to support about it.

I heard something about a time limit for getting the KeyShot stuff, is there one and if so how long?
I would like to get it in a month or so, not now. I can do that right?

On the day of release, I read they’d announce in advance (2 wks) before killing the deal.

Have gotten emails from support stating they were sent but

Worse perhaps the problem is systemic. The variable in all these equations now are the
Key Shot people.
We know, trust and rely on Zbrush, but this new member of the family…

I am waiting now for my ZBrush to Keyshot bridge since about 60 hours. But I know the pixologic people will do the best. ZBrush is for me the best software of the world! :slight_smile:

Well, I bought my copy on Friday morning, and have just received the links about an hour ago. Guess someone’s working on a Sunday… And very appreciated it is too! Suppose what I’m saying is, don’t worry guys, it’s on it’s way.

I know, but it’s a bit extreme :slight_smile: Transpose extrusion doesn’t give desirable effect either. I’m talking about something similar to simple shift+drag edge in 3dsmax.

Bought KeyShot and Bridge Friday. No email. Submitted a ticket. Got a response Saturday saying all is resolved and I have the link in my inbox. Problem is I don’t. I hear other people have gotten their link. Am I the only one still waiting?

bought friday, still nothing

hi friends, i have a little problem and maybe someone else is experiencing it:

my Load and Import buttons are not working, yes(o: , both 32 and 64 bit
Load Tool, Import model, import texture even import ui colors,
when i click i can choose the obj, ma, jpg whatever and then import buttons starts flashing black and white forever eventually i need to close zbrush. I tried with all kind of objects and textures, heavy, light, obj, ma,jpg

I know you are all extruding shamelessly now (o: but any ideas?
