ZBrush 4R7: Released!

@ BJ Pentecost

Why don’t you take your issue to the Questions and Troubleshooting board, so we can get a look at your problem and explore it in more detail?

Is there a way to assign hotkeys to zmodeler actions and targets? I mean no disrespect, but necessity to go through the menu each time when I need to change from extrusion to inset (or something else as basic) is frustrating. I can’t find a way to pull polygons out from edges, which is kind of a bummer as well, since it’s essential for polymodelling and it’s my main tool most of the time. I mean one poly from one edge, not pyramide like the extrude action for edges does. Can I inset group of polygons (by default, action is insetting each polygon from the selected group, not the group itself)?
Anyway, it’s a great free update, new Zremesher is awesome, thanks Pixo.

Thanks Pixo :smiley:

I purchased KeyShot for ZBrush :smiley:

and I have successfully installed and activated 4R7 /64 bit
with KeyShot /64 bit for ZBrush on Win7 and everything works :+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:

Thanks and Happy ZBrushing! :slight_smile:

To the Pixologic Team,

Thank You for re-inspiring me to love this program again and give me creative hope. I never truly felt like I could get a hang of Zbrush because of time, life issues, dealing with health issues and total lack of faith in my sculpting and creating abilities. I have been a Photoshop/multi-media artist, for 15 years and now truly feel with the latest release and going to 64 bit and also a much upgraded computer, I can get my mind wrapped around Zbrush again. I never really posted, 3 times total with lack luster work and seeing all the talent that the community has, I would become discouraged and just play with Zbrush, not do any real work. Since the release, the new tools, particularly Zmodeller, I actually sat through several and I mean several tutorials to refresh my knowledge, have signed up and purchased courses in preparation for the new release to help me get some of the work under my creative belt. I even went ahead and purchased Keyshot because I feel I can combine some of my idea to create some hopefully great stuff.

Again Thank You, after 9 1/2 years with Zbrush I’m inspired again and hopeful to share some of the work as I get further along.

Best of Luck!!!
Sorry Dolphinius.

Is this anything like:

  1. I only read the Times
  2. I have never done this before.
  3. Your check is in the mail.

Sam Elliot is now taping an audio message explaining the pricing and downloading links

I put off upgrading to 4R7 for a while foreseeing I’d get squished and trampled in the floodgates, (and I was not in a hurry, so I thought - let everyone else have it before me like innit)
Whilst waiting, and perusing the new features, I was listening to “Promise Me” by “Beverly Craven” on ewtube looping over and over for an hour or two on the first hours of 4R7 release day, (I know its weird) but after a while I envisioned thousands of ZBrushers the world over staring at their monitors, open mouthed, quivering lower lip, a single tear bursts forth, rolling down cheek on some of them, knackered from all the quick-fire F5 F5 F5 F5 F5 multi tapping…It was a fitting soundtrack.

A couple of days’ curiosity just got the better of me and I succumb.

Everything went fine:-
(1) De-Activate R6, (2) Uninstall R6, (3) delete residuals (files/folders), (4) Download R7, (5) install R7, (6)Activate R7, (7)Pray.
…Message saying:-
“4R7 has already been de-activated on this machine, would you like to Re-Activate?”…
…Yes…Yes please, with chocolate matcaps on top.
BEHOLD…4R7.

I noticed the new tick box questions on activation screen, I ticked nearly every box, including Dentist.
I’m not a dentist, but not so long ago I was telling my dentist about ZBrush and how brilliant it is, and how I will one day get my choppers scanned, open them up (myself of course, I couldn’t trust a dentist to do it) in Zbrush, augment a little bit here and there, (replace a missing tooth, slight fangs…only a little bit of fang, not too much)
Print them out in some high density material like Titanium/Steel etc. Whichever one that will not rust.
et voila…nigh-on indestructible imperishable Titanium toosie pegs drilled and screwed into my skull and mandible, nice.
Thats all in preparation for later in life when I start loosing lots of teeth, or if I know a good job will be done of the alignment, drilling and screwing, rip em out now and get it over with…if I could afford it that is.
Sorry to digress, its just if my dentist gets Zbrush, I told him about it OK. And if I were a dentist, I’d already have it.

Uh, yeah, so anyway…
Fair do’s to the Pixologician’s, I bet they are on some unsponsored stay awake substance, fire extinguishers in hand in case of smoking servers bursting into flames or spontaneous combustion due to the Zb-Rush thats (naturally) occurring right now.
btw. Feeling lots of empathy for everyone whos in Z-Limbo at the moment. I really am.

I smell an opportunistic early “surprise” birthday present in the form of ZBridge and Zeyshot coming soon, but iL leave it a week or three, let Pixologic get back to normal.

Going for a soak in the bath now, where I will play and fantasize in the playground area of my mind-palace (yes Sherlock I got one too) about all the doable impossibilities that will be possible with ZB4R7.

ZBrush 4R7 - making fantasy a reality.
ZBrush 5 - All your fantasy are belong to us.

Thank you Pixologic, Love you, and your software.

mark.

@markwhitcombe

Whatever you’re drinking – can I have some? :slight_smile:

Hey All
I have Z4R7 and Keyshot installed. I also puchased the Bridge but I don’t see a download and I don’t know how to install it
I know that there is a lot going on out there but I would appreciate a point in the right direction
Thanks

@Dmacary.

The instructions should be included in the email you received. Zbridge comes preinstalled in R7, and will prompt you to activate it the first time you use it. If you’re one of the people who hasn’t received an email, most answers to common questions like this one can be found in the Questions and Troubleshooting thread:

Oops…sorry. Redundant post re: KS bridge.

Please, delete at will!

@jan19

Ahh if only a drink (or anything else) would have had this effect…I’d have drunk it long ago.
Maybe I’ve been drinking it all my life and never knew it.

I think I’ve been far too long in my “mind-palace”, I need to get out more.

Sorry @everyone, didn’t mean to do anyone’s head in, its just that I is so excited, and there’s 90-95% moon out tonight which might have something to do with it.

Happy ZBrushing everyone.

I was joking, mark. :slight_smile:

I’m excited, too, about the upgrade!

Does Keyshot for ZBrush single seat license have a “Home Use” rule like ZBush?

ZBrush Single User copies have a “Home Use” rule which allows them to be installed and activated on two computers (such as a desktop and laptop or a work computer and home machine), provided that both copies aren’t actually run at the same time.

@markwhitcombe

Z-Bliss can happen without warning.

finally got the email sent to me by Pixo support, they resent the email that has the links for Keyshot and Zbridge to Keyshot SS#s. Can anyone answer my problem on this??

@jan19

I knew you were joking, I just felt the need to explain so as to not come across as a complete stark raving mad lunatique, (only very slight harmless lunacy, if any)

@Spyndel

Oh Definitely, I think its become intertwined with lots of my imagination (thank you ZBrush)

@bisenberger

I believe Keyshot for ZBrush (unlike Zbrush) is only allowed on 1 machine at any given time, though you can switch licensed machines whenever via the internet.
Kinda gutted about that myself as I hop from laptop to surface pro 2 now and then, depending on my mood and where I am.
I cant really see myself doing much Zeyshot-ing or any other rendering much on an sp2, but it would have been really nice to have the option.

WOW! Thank you very much Pixologic devs, management and crew.:sunglasses:small_orange_diamond:D I am absolutely amazed by this and all other releases I have been privileged to use. Time to get some art up here to show my appreciation for all your hard work.

Ooh, niiiicceee. I have seen Initialize has receive more functions. Coooolll :sunglasses:small_orange_diamond:+1:

AND, at the new popup menu are to understand this three-(sometimes four or only two)-tables as combination:
1.) Polygon-Action! -Task
2.) As Target! -Task
3.) Modifiers! -Task

(to combine and understand all this three-(sometimes four or only two)-things/Points/tables are the most important thing to learn) hmm :smiley:

To hear from TimePoint 7:10 to 7:30 (especially the last seconds between this time):

And the Shift or Alt Key.
