Well, at least I have 4R7 to play with. I guess I’ll just have to wait until next week for the Keyshot issue to get resolved.
I wondered this… if the server was so jammed that eventually the cramp would let go and deliver. If this is the case, then Keyshot and Bridge will be sorted by Sunday or so perhaps.
oh, and there is an update in the support portal if you look saying the same thing as prior post. Patience begets patience and glad they said something.
Aurick just said in the Question and Troubleshooting thread that they had released the server jam, and were hoping all the delivery emails would be going out over the next few hours. Keep your fingers crossed.
FYI: I just received the following message from a support ticket at 5:15 pm PST:I have just learned that the store’s outbound server is under a 36 hour backlog. The emails aren’t lost – the first one is still about 16 hours from actually being sent.

For me the issue is resolved. The support manager manually pasted in my download links and serial number into my support ticket. I hope the same happens for the rest of you soon.
I saw something like that, when I checked the status of my support ticket a few minutes ago.
Woohoo…my ticket has been assigned!
AND…the support staff is working thru the weekend, to get everything straightened out.
Awesome company, Pixologic.
So I decided to take a chance and buy Zbrush. Email with serial numbers came immediately including the Keyshot links and licenses. Everything is installed and activated now.
Not trying to discourage anyone who is still having issues. Just want to tell others like myself who were on the fence about buying it.
Now all I have to do is figure out how to use it. Took me 20 minutes just to get a sphere rendered in Keyshot.
You’ll be up to speed before you know it, Soulcatch.
A hint…watch video tuts. Some things aren’t “in your face.” Like the ZModeler Brush.
You don’t see the options, unless you press the Spacebar and hover over your model.
And there is a ton that the pros can teach, regarding tips and tricks.

I’m sorry I acted happy about this. I don’t want anyone to have to work over the weekend.
At the same time, it’s heartening to see such dedicated people.
I hope people know I meant the “woohoo” in a good way. Not an entirely selfish way. :o
Tbh they could’ve just put a huge banner/explanation in their twitter/facebook/store/main site, because seeing how you money went away and not getting any signs of e-mail with dl links/serial is a bit…uhm…weird feeling. And e-mail issue…ehm…sounds strange in 2015.
Way to go Pixologic, putting a little ‘polish’ on the Z4 series. Flawless install and activation. My first run through the new stuff has me running through the house scaring the wife and kids.
Respect!
Is anyone else having problems with rendering in Keyshot? As of yet I am not impressed with the results but I don’t know if it is a problem with the program or something I’m doing wrong. I’d assume (and deeply hope) the latter before the former except that Keyshot is SUPER easy to use and I’ve used it before.
The problem I’m having is that it will render for a few minutes or so then it just appears to stop and the render will stay grainy in some areas, typically shadow areas. I will watch the little grains for a long time but they never change or go away. Sometimes they become almost imperceptible yet still noticeable enough that it hurts the render, significantly in some circumstances. I have tested KS 5 on this machine before and it ran beautifully so I don’t know what could be causing the issue.
Like I said, I don’t know if this is a problem with the program, just me being a dope, or perhaps my machine isn’t up to snuff. I’d think it would be- i5core with 16GB of RAM. I’m at a loss here. This is among the things I was looking forward to the most.
@ bkcarlsonBridgingWhen you watch the videos they get a nice smooth transition between the poly’s. I can’t seem to get the same result. I am doing something wrong but I have yet to find it in the documentation. A good example is the Zmodeler video of the dump truck when he creates the exhaust stack.
Thanks,
I got it to work by deleting the two polys that I wanted to bridge and then using the edge bridge tool and setting it to bridge two holes… works beautifully.
Does anyone know what is luxion policy about future updates of keyshot? Will keyshot for zbrush update for free or every update is paid?

Instead of live rendering in the viewport (I’m assuming that’s what you are doing), click Render and let it render in a separate window. The results are always better, plus you can continue working and not hog up Keyshot with a live render.

Well the normal way they work is that incremental updates (for instance between version 4 and 5) between major updates are free. They charge a fee for upgrading to a major update. At a guess I would think it will be the same for the version for ZBrush, but it’s just a guess.
Have they fixed the Deco Brush? That was the only reason I had to go back to R5 :\
where is the best place to send/or post error or crash file?
thanks in advance
I am trying to activate the Keyshot bridge in Zbrush 4R7 and it asks me to activate the license. I go exactly were it is and for some reason it will not show? I have it and it is there but there is nothing for me to click on. Any one else have this problem? I activated everything else just fine? I put in a ticket but would love to use it over the weekend. Any input would be appreciated, I have yet to complete a model and am close. I just have to get over the fear of showing it?
Moderator’s Answer: Make sure that the file name ends with the .zlic extension.

Not fixed - alpha mid value is locked at 50 and texture gets scaled up *3… but see workaround here, I prepared all my alphas that way now so I’m actually glad now it’s not been fixed.
woow, it’s a very awesome news that zbrush 4R7 has released,…
