I have no email yet, has anyone got theirs today, or within the last 2 hours? I would like to know how they process these emails, maybe Pixologic should look for a beter solution like Luxology uses, bittorrent, and licence key in the account, no fuss.

I completely agree.
Pixo need to adopt Luxology’s account management/upgrade process; in my experience the best in the business. Your copy of ZBrush should be available for download 24/7/365 from your personal support page. During upgrades Pixo could then push the latest version to everyone at the same time. Couple this with extra rented server space (to deal with the high demand) from Amazon, and you’d have a lot more happy customers. When I upgraded to modo 501 last December, the new version was sitting in my account when I returned home from work. Within a couple of hours (the download is over 2Gbs!) I had it all installed and was using it on the day of release.
When it’s easier to search on Google for Zbrush 4R2 torrents and get a cracked, pirated copy than a legit copy from the manufacturer, you know you’ve got a distribution problem.
(nb. I’ve not downloaded a pirate copy, tempting as it is, because I want to do the right thing. Make it easy for me to do so Pixo!).

okay this is for those who were wondering if not getting the “get ready for 4R2” email will effect getting the update and here is what I found out.
“I have just double checked your account in the system. The correct email address is on record. Also, failure to receive the preview email will have nothing to do with the upgrade email. The preview email was sent by us while the upgrade email will be sent by Cleverbridge.” ~aurick
ok so I assume since cleverbridge got the email correct last fall that I have nothing to worry about and you either.

another suggestion for those mentioning the free updates and the option of re-purchasing a copy of ZB… if pixo were to offer the option of making a donation towards further development and giving those people the ability to download their update immediately, I think everybody would be happier in the end. I would certainly have no problems making a contribution on release day 1, whether or not I would have got the update free or not… instead of wait, wait, wait.

Browsing through the feature list of R2 makes it very tempting to just hit the “Buy Now” button, just to put an end to all this waiting… but that would be madness?.. Wouldn’t it??
