also are there any new plugins?
Really? I could have sworn I clicked a link to grab the plugings for it. Are all the documentation files also installed as well, or do we have to download those separately?
Never mind, I finally got through to the download page and there’s nothing new in the way of plugins. I wonder if we get enough votes together the Pixo team will write a vector displacement plugin? Who’s IN?
i’m pretty sure the plugins are generally written by others and z brush merges them in if their popular. pixo writes zbrush. if they want to add other features they can release patches. their will probably be another zbrush release in a few weeks with fixes for the more horrific errors. it’s what happened last time
I see. Thanks moose o death. Fingers crossed this is something Pixologic see as an important update.
I think the Internets hates me and the refresh button… I’m fiending …
All plugins and documentation (including plugin docs) come with the Z4R2 install!
Now…
Breath…
oh email please hurry I can’t stand it!!! I want my new toy
I haven’t posted but maybe one or two pieces on here just because of time… I really hope once I get R2 I Will make time to share:D
You guys all rock man!!
oh yea… anybody remember that software that came out not to long ago called mmm $h!tbox… WHAT YOU GOT NOW AUTODESK HMMMMMM!!!
I’m not using Zbrush until I get my email!
I can confirm that there is no need to reinstall plugins that are already installed. Mine are all there on ZBrush 4 R2.
Six series of Lost later… Still no email… I do hope CleverBridge work weekends…
This thread has been a great read, if it’s not refreshing the inbox it’s refreshing the comments on here.
me neither, still no email…this update system is still awkward…the more user the worse it gets, coz more emails to send. on the other side im looking forward to the new release
Yup, NO email for me – Wow this sucks.
A small upgrade fee to fund “beefed up” distribution capacity via direct download link in one’s support.pixologic.com account is preferrable to this…
i disagree with that. the beauty of pixologics plan for free upgrades is that people that have moved into the other rival apps will give it another go to try the new features risk free.
having paid maintenance like autodesk would deter people from trying the new features especially if the software they have been using works fine for them. pixo’s trying to draw the wanderers back. they’re business relies on studio’s and the hobbyists wanting to keep costs down. they need a constant inflow of new users.
if they went down the path of paid updates, the users not happy with feature xyz. or the non-maya interface (what is so good about that interface?) wouldn’t try the new features unless something particularly impressive was mentioned.
before you mention opting into getting the update first and everyone else getting it free a week later. you can do that now. it costs 699 a license and is available in the store right now
Well said moose o death, and yep if you can’t wait, then buy it again now the full price of zbrush isn’t much different then the upgrade price of mudbox.
Me… i’m happy to wait and very grateful for everything pixologic does, apart from an AWESOME software, they give me a refreshed faith in companies. What they do is unheard of with all the other software companies.
Keep up the amazing awesome work!
Here here! All very well said sir.
Whether Day Or Night, Rain Or Shine, Weekday or Weekend, Delivery of emails will not halt

Finally got mine yesterday. So happy. It is every bit as good as I hope. Very exited. Thanks again Pixologic! <3
buuuu… still no e-mail… and I though I will be able to play with new R2 over the weekend.
