I’m not asking for a free upgrade. All I want is the advertised functionality I already paid for. Without that they won’t get another cent from me.

why are you hoping they have something to announce?
they never back it up with a tangible product. they just keep putting things off.
here is what they will say
“zbrush is happy to announce zb4! with all new features and rewritten back-end, it will be the best zbrush ever. ZB4 will be available in Q4 of 2009”
Then you can get back to waiting.

Look I bet it’s the bad economy or something, they probably had to let go or lost one of their key programmers or something and they don’t want to tell that to the public because you just don’t tell people that. That’s just my theory for the delay.
Its the Zbrush Limbo! How LOW can you GO???
I have the exact same feeling as well for some time now. Something is wrong, plain and simple. A delay for a new upgrade can happen, but a simple OSX patch to fix a problem won’t take this long. Nobody’s going to buy that anymore. This situation does not feel good at all.
Hey guys… big things are afoot here. Bigger than you all might expect. I know a few people at Apple, one of them a rather high ranking executive.
The word is that Apple has been negotiating with Pixologic for a while now about a buy-out.
Negotiations are taking a bit longer as apparently Apple wants to drop the Windows version from v3.5 onwards and instead have the OSX version only. Whereas Pixologic is trying to broker a deal that won’t leave Windows users in the cold.
Supposedly Apple wants to eventually integrate ZBrush technology in their Shake replacement.
Yeah all the windows users will be SO happy if there is no 3.5…that’s probably 80% or more of the current userbase.

I must say that I’m glad that the next ZBrush isn’t out yet because I can have endless entertainment from impatient Mac users.
Don’t you just LOVE corporate politics! Corporate politics and civilians, i.e (Non-creatives) or in simpler terms, SUITS! are a virus that the art world has been plagued with for ages! one day we’ll find a permanent cure!
