**** ZBrush 3.5 R3 for Windows Released

Thanx 4 answering. Yeah, I’ve already discovered that fact and I should say that it’s a real pity - I use it a lot. Guess I’ll have to stay on 3.1

I did read that the ZB4 release will bring back some of the functions that were removed. Hope Zmapper is one of them.

What are you missing the most from ZMapper that is not in ZBrush 3.5R3?

Mate in the mean time give X normal a try,Its just as good and its free.

Morphing between a stored (neutral) head and an expression head to see the blending.

It was also nice to have the different shading options to check tangent normals, UV seams, etc.

Overall, having a visual representation of what you are about to generate is nice.

Familiarity - yes. But I also miss all the settings the zmapper gave me - sharpness,and staff. I also miss the cavity map generator - sure I can make it from alpha mask, but… Though I sure admire all the great staff that was invented in 3,5. And the new zspheres are just great! So It’s a tough decision for me - stay on 3.1 or move to the 3,5 which wouldn’t be even a question if zmapper were there. Also that little things make me think all that stupid thoughts - what if the new zbrush issues stops supporting some other features that I like and use often.

As usual, this new release makes me want to cry from happiness and frustration. So much power, so little time.

no need for Zmapper anymore! Actually yes blending option was a very nice visual, but now, normal map is a matter of click click… And one last click.

For Cavity Mapping there are even more control then ever. If you look in the Masking Sub-Palette you will see a curve that will let you control the cavity. Plus there are Intensity and Blur slider. Same thing that was in ZMapper.

For blending of the morph target and sculpt. Did you know that you could use TurnTable Plus to do the same thing? There is a layer option in Turntable Plus that will capture a video of the selected layer going through intensity 0 to 1. Give that a try and let me know.

Simply fantastic ZB crew! The way forward?..how about customized rig plug-in that could be imported to any application for instant animation? Like having Gold and Diamond combined.

That might be stretching things a bit, but a collada export might be feasible…

Maybe you are right. But I trust ZB will deliver a more effecient tool. Don’t you think?..they would fill the gaps where other plug-ins are lacking.

what if GoZ can export morph targets-- Wait this is half the story, morph targets and shading network to morph displacement and normal map! That can happen.

I wonder what the chances are of Mac users receiving ZB3.5 before this Christmas?

so not many days left of q4 of this year and still no news on goz or spotlight ( or did i just dream them up one night, or is it some sort of group halucination) and no news of zbrush 4 oh well gives us something to look foward to next year i suppose. :smiley:

AS long as ZB4 works as it should, il be happy to wait, who knows maybe a r4 is on its way?

I really like the new Pixologic policy. I’d rather see an R-something release every couple of months than rare releases with eons of silence inbetween. Not to mention 3.5 has everything i expected from 4 and more. Well, maybe except better topology tools and texture layers, but you can always take your model outside for that. 3.5 is also very stable and has many optimizations that don’t make flashy hilghlights, but really make your life easier. In my opinion - a great way to go. I hope this is a permanent change.

Z3.5 R3 - is a killer app and love it to bits :slight_smile:

I’m only waiting on GoZ for PC :frowning: hope this is soon - but I can wait for a free product :slight_smile:
