**** ZBrush 3.5 R3 for Windows Released

I don’t buy the comment that the pipeline to PC production is faster, given the fact that Macs are now Intel based. The pipeline to ZBrush for the PC is only faster because they choose to release the PC version. We don’t even know IF they are working on a Mac version because we hear nothing from development. Give us a farking timeline, a general galaxy in this sector of the universe that you think we might see a glimpse of a Mac version. Then I’ll know when to put in a purchase request for a new Mac and ZBrush. Until then, stop brown nosing to the Pixologic moderator, because he/she obviously does not pass on our comments to the decision makers at Pixol-illogic.

Woohooo, downloading my update. Feels good to be one of the earlier downloaders since i’m pretty sure I was one of the last when 3.5 came out! Thanks pixo!

I think the main problem is that the communication from pixologic in the past regarding release dates for the mac has been atrocious. Declared dates have come and gone by months without any indication beforehand that the date wouldn’t be met. They then said release dates for mac and pc would be the same, with owners expecting this to be for 3.5. This didn’t happen and then the dates for 3.5 for mac came and went and now a bland generic statement in giving no confidence that mac users won’t be screwed again. Maybe we won’t get 3.5 but just wait for later next year for version 4. Who knows, it wouldn’t surprise some users here.
Having gone to 3 release candidates for the windows version it seems they were too early releasing it given the number of apparent bugs people have complained about.
They just have to be clear and open in communicating things. Something they are gradually improving but still nowhere near ideal.

I can’t seem to unzip the update file. It gives me an error. I’m using winRAR to unzip, anyone else have this error?

Hi:),

ZBrush 3.5r3 installer is an .exe (executable file) and not a ZIP file.
Simply double click the downloaded ZBrush file to begin the installation process.

I’m not even a mac user but please finish the mac 3.5 so that I can try 3.5 on PC!

GREAT!!! It works now, for some reason it was downloading it as a .zip, I changed the extension and it works. Thanks.

Hello Abe

The local way of rotating around is back. Just turn on Align to Object under the Draw Palette. That will give you the rotation that you are looking for.

oh damn, my download has expired, i have to wait for the email

Isn’t it a month early?

My nerves are almost shattering while waiting for that download mail…!

:stuck_out_tongue:

Will we have to deactivate the 3.5_r2 license first, like we had to do with 3.5 R1 to R2 ?

Yes.

Downloading now!

Got the email and I’m excited to install it tonight. Thank you Pixologic.

Thanks!

Follow up question:

Can I haz download link now?

Deactivating 3.5 R2 install in anticipation of the R3 email coming has also deactivated my old 3.0 install. Ah well, guess I’ll re-activate while I wait for the email, sculpt a bit and then deactivate when it comes in a day or two.

Quick fix for running program on vista w/o needing admin rights.

Move program folder to desktop, and simply run as normal user. Works for me.
