nice work man!
great thread, love your work!
Very nice mr freeze.
That aircraft thing left me speechless
thx guys,
- the leather took longer than expected, but that peaks and valleys mask feature was extremely useful for the end result.
Here are a couple turnarounds of some concepts that I have been putting off posting… until now

Here is another version of a character that I created years ago. He was largely inspired and named after the Hindu/Tibetan god of death, Yama. Hence, his colourful attire adorned with skulls.
It also gave me an opportunity to play around with the IM spline brushes and the fibers. The beauty shots were rendered with BPR in passes, that were comped in PS.
I hope you like it… I had fun with him… and he isn’t a clown btw

the ugly mugshot.

A bird’s eye view…

A weapon detail.

… and the turnarounds.

very cool!
I realy like the face…also bird’s eye view. God job man !
Jempix, Yama is an amazing character! His costuming, especially his purple-and-gold cummerbund and his armor and weaponry, is excellent. I agree that the bird’s eye view is the most striking render, with the tiger skin looking especially believable in that one.
I have to admit, the face reminds me of Ganon from The Legend of Zelda - but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing!
Would you be so kind as to tell us a little about how you did all of the ornamentation and detailing of his weapons and armor? I’d love to see your techniques for that.
Thanks for sharing with us. Cheers!
thanks for the comments guys.
So cool!! He reminds me of Ganondorf from Zelda a bit. Great work!!
Hi, Jempix. I forgot to ask in my last post, how many subtools is the axe made out of? Like others mentioned, the detailing on that thing is great - I’d love to see how you made it. Cheers!
I was unfamiliar with the Zelda dude, until it was mentioned just now. “Googling” him, I can see how you might see some similarities.

here you go. I put this together. Hopefully it will help you out.
