Yaksha Comics Launched

double post oops

Sweet, thanks for the tip. Can’t wait to get home so I can start on it :]

Heres an update – anyone liking its face and long snout ? lols

Going back to work on ears and facial details.

Can anyone tell me how to add more polygons to the face of the zsphere model without loosing my stored morph ??? I want to have more fine details in the facial region and hair part… this model is over 1.8 millions anyhow.

Thanks for any comments before hand.

Prospect you can check this link of mine, I never got time to complete it but there are few techniques there which will help you… dont go on the face of that pic… I was just talking abt techniques there.

Ok I am catching up speed now, this is an hour work compared to 2 days of work posted before…

I don’t care this detailing is perfect or not because this is my first attempt on proper sculpting in zbrush… atleast I am jumping in my seat as I am able to do what I longed for, sculpt high details on the model directly…

Now I know why zbrush is such an amazing sculpt tool :+1: :+1: :+1:

This looks more like a fox face then a dogs but hell with it I am happy I made something of high standard :sunglasses: :+1: :+1:

Next going to work on hands and legs…

looking good…I am still trying bodies myself…the hands and feet are what kill me …I don’t know whether it’s better to do them seperate or make them part of the one piece model? Any good tips to share that have helped you in your body modeling?
thnx
Ron

Ron you asking a guy who has just detailed sculpted his first model in life :o and I have not even reached the hands yet

I will just ask you you to get back to the practical guide and go through the character modeling tutorial … I am repenting for missing it…

I created this 3d zsphere model exactly as shown there, if you want you can even load the zsphere tool provided and try creating a new one comparing the old one, afterwards when sculpting go through each step properly.

if you can create the detailings in one part of the body you will be able to create the detailings in all of them then…

TAKE A REFEReNCE PIC — always, it is never easy to create directly through imagination…

If you can detail a hand seperately then it won’t be difficult to detail it on a zsphere model directly … just remember to turn quick3d off and hide rest of the body.

If you have no choice then you can try making a zsphere hand and then inserting in the main mesh zspheres, just keep track of polygons and subdivison levels so that RAM doesnt get your computer down…( or simply use displacement maps on low poly zsphere hands after detailing it).

How’s the second issue coming along Sunny? Nearly done I hope!?

I noticed your style is evolving a bit there mate, judging by the WIP you’ve been posting. Is this the new style for the comics then, or just you trying new things?

Yes Angel its being done, almost ready but I will take soemtime before launching it, firstly because I have some serious virus probs and i cannot take any risk. Will be taking hell lot of precautionary measures before.

  1. I wanna imbed this new style with the new characters and as I have learned some proper detailing so I will upgrade my new characters as well. Though I wont touch the three main ones for now.

You can expect me to to provide high level of detailing by the 3rd issue.

and after 2nd issue is launched I will be coming out with an online cartoon strip every 2 or 3 days on my website, so that the visitors rythm isnt broken…

I am thinking about subscriptions as well.

Thanks for the update sunny. That’s all great news  I’m pleased your still keeping at it mate

That’s what I’m talken about, he looks Great! He has so much character. Loven what your doing with the face. Especially from the front , side profile doesn’t have as much punch though. Keep it up.:+1:

Update on hands

Well Cant say it was a joy ride but I enjoyed it, being a beast I didnt had to make it exact human and that helped.

Ron… have a look at the hands and show us your update on hand as well … we both might help each other to learn lols

Now I have a problem, for creating veins and all I need to subdivide this mesh which I cannot as i need to repose this zspheres, so can any one tell me how to increase the polygon account in the model ? or should I paint bump maps instead ?

Any suggestions?

Jason where are you? you are zsphere expert… suggest please

Sorry, not sure what your asking me…

Ok Jason detail explaination -

This model is a zsphere model having 2 million polygons.

But to add more details of veins and all

I need to either make it a adaptive skin( which I dont want to as I will be reposing it.) or somehow add more polygons to the zsphere model…

How can I add more zspheres to the model or increase its subdivion level without loosing its detailing and my stored morph???

Or shuld I use bump maps instead ? What do you suggest ?

Maybe edge loop?

Cant edgeloop on a zsphere model  … I wish I can in Z 2.5

Damn, then I’m out of ideas, sorry man :\

Don’t worry I found one solution…

wait for the updates, I hope I am able to do it with 1.5 gb of ram.

1.8 million polygons(to be exact) with this details
is this looking good :qu:

Looking good. What level are you at? What did you decide was your solution? Perhaps it will help others.

Fantastic improvement sunny! Although you could still pull out a lot more detail I think. It does depend a lot on your base though. And bump mapping/normal mapping would work great for veins. Although if you take your time and build up the veins, you can manage to get the larger ones in the displacement map. One thing to watch out for is whenever you smooth, your going to lose detail. So you have to constantly rebuild details. Right now your character is lacking some crispness in definition so he looks a bit lumpy overall. Especially in the face.
