Thanks AA ron, Im taking some advice and constructing some really cool tree and foliage shaped gobo,s to interact with the models lighting and its working really well.
Just a quick view of a diplodocus butt.
Search the forum, there is a tutorial regarding integration of ZB characters into photos. Your guy’s shadows (or lack of) are not looking like they are according to the scene light. The level of detail of the body’s texture is in stark contrast to the photo’s detail. The color space does not match at all, you have to correct that. Move curves around so the color starts to match. Another thing is grain. Your object has to match the film of the photo or it looks like a decal stuck onto it. Try to add noise to the object so it starts to match the noise of the photo. Often that is already doing a lot to integrate stuff into scenes. Also… did that guy fly there? His feet should be muddy or wet while standing in the muck or water. Also look what ‘fresnel effect’ means and how it applies to surfaces and angles of them to the viewer. You are of to a start, now fiddle with ONE scene till it looks ‘real’. It’s a lot of detail. Make a list of things you check and alter, so you can go through that again in the next project. My list is about 47 items long when I do work like that. This stuff is tricky but fun to do, specially when the images start to merge and people cannot see the items you are ‘hiding’. You are successful when people can only find the three decoy’s in an image but you hid about 10 items in it which they did not recognize…
Good luck and keep tweaking!

Welp, thanks to all of your awesome dino models, you made me decide to wrangle zspheres again and dig up my Plesiosaurus model.
I worked the skin mesh over quite a bit with the move tool before I was any where close to being happy.
Theres not a whole lot of reference online for this Plesiosaur, even less for an Elasmosaurus and I have no idea where my old toys and dino books went to back from when I was a youngin. You seem to know these old creatures pretty well…any suggestions?
I know my porportions are probably horribly off but I suppose this is more of the Loch Ness version of the Plesiosaurus.
(I was happy just to get the base mesh from the zspheres to finally work)
Jeez, didnt even see the diplodocus you added, nice job. The intergration is getting better .
I remembered I hit a few threads regarding photoshop intergration so I grabbed the link. Hope this helps a bit too.

One of my favorite, which of course I cant find, explains duplicating your dino layer, applying a plastic wrap to it, then erasing unneeded areas (areas in shadows) to simulate a wet or shiny surface for scales, etc.
Newtek is getting ready to go Beta with Lightwave Rendition for PS3 Extended. You might want to look into the Beta Program. It will let you bring the models into PS and control the lighting and texture within PS if I understand it right. Should be a must have for this kind of work.
Great models by the way
AA Ron…
Thanks again.
Did you ever see the episode of the simpsons where its all viewed from the perspective of the dog?. And all the dialog from the humans is “blah blah bla bone…blah blah sit…blah blah blah good boy”. Thats where im up to when listening to you guys. This is so frustrating.
Anyhow, you mentioned you were curious about my z sphere construction?. I will dig out my files and grab some screen shots of all my dino z sphere models. Rather than clutter up the thread, can you give me an e mail addy and I will send them there. If theres a way of posting the whole models I make I will send those too. They just seem to large to do that.

Thanks Blaine. I know I shouldnt be surprised but I constantly am at just how giving and helpful people are on this site. I hope to be able to help others soon.
Thanks for the reply, I just sent you a PM with my email address. Id image that all the dino have pretty much the same basic configuration to them since they are bi and quad peds. I cant wait to work more on my Plesiosaur, but some times college home work gets in the way haha.
ahh, where can I find Brian De Silvas brushes?
Here are Brians excellent brushes. They seem to be copies of some of the mudbox brushes. I tend to use the very fine brush set to a negative value as its brilliant at etching details into your sculptures.
Anyone know where these brushes are?
Oh … Excellent work …
Hi folks, Just thought I would paste my favourite “dino” alphas as these have served me very well over the past few weeks. I usually use a mixture of these alphas then emphasise any deep folds with the sharpest Brian de silva brush.

Thanks so much
oOo very nice . Ill have to give these a whirl on my model. Never though black and white alphas could get one so excited haha.
Thanks!
oo those alphas are very nice, where can i find them?
Potocello…scroll down
This is my Femailien WIP…a nice diversion from dinosaurs (for a while).
I made a garage kit to a design like this about 15 years ago. Lots more work to do yet.
