Thread of Madness - Joseph Drust

@Chrisd: Yeah that is a limitation of it for sure. You can manually scale the SubTools to offset this some but it still is just compressing the details as you have noticed

Now on to some Madness…

So I had a vast plan for participating in the InkTober founded by Jake Parker but recuperating from the Summit caused me not start that endeavor. However yesterday I was sent a link to a thread on the Keyshot forums by a guy named Mjb that was experimenting with custom gradient HDR images. (https://www.keyshot.com/forum/index.php?topic=13454.0)

So today I experimented with creating some images using this technique with ZBrush and Keyshot. The model was one that I created awhile ago inside of ZBrush for making some pinup models that never were completed  All the images below were Modeled in ZBrush sent to Keyshot using the ZBrush to Keyshot Bridge then had some quick gradient/photoshop noise overlays applied.

Cool look…

Looking great! interesting.
Isn’t it something You could achieve just with a bit of posterize and bpr filters?

@nebular Yup you could with the filter effects.

Here are a few more  Messing with more complicated models (props and stuff.)

And here is an image of what the models look like in ZBrush. (ZModeler for Props, Mesh Extract and some Sloppy Marvelous Designer for clothes.)

These are brilliant Piggyson, lovely style and colours. I really dig the worn look with the PS treatment you’ve given them.

The second last image also doubles as a cool avatar:sunglasses: below your name.

It’s always a pleasure viewing your new creations, quite refreshing :+1:

~ Cheers

@Bangers: Thanks! Photoshop treatment is just some rough concrete textures overlayed gives a nice effect

Some more for today and also some ZBrush Images. So for the process so far I am using a basemesh I made a while ago, posing then creating clothes (ocassional MD usage.) Hair is done with @Dekren 's great Hair Brush (https://gumroad.com/dekren) All other props done in ZBrush quick then sent to Keyshot using the bridge for rendering.

Another quick one; Refining the process. Ignore the anatomy issues on the ZBrush Images; I skip cleaning them up due to they mostly vanish when rendering the image in KeyShot.

Here is a quick Image breakdown of the processes I used to create the DVA image. The Keyshot process was originally displayed on the Keyshot forums by Mjb (https://www.keyshot.com/forum/index.php?topic=13454.0)

HDR Gradients I created are attached below. Feel free to use
