@AjdinBarucija
Sorry for my english, I really don’t understand what anatomy studies, textures, religion, refine and step by step have to do with my work.
…I have seen all sculptures of this this guy in the real life this year at Louvre Museum
It’s the same pleasure of the eyes when I see your sculptures!
Thank you pilou, I didn’t know about Franz Xaver Messerschmidt. Shame on me.
An interesting biography too. Julian_K should see these, if not already.
Franz Xaver Messerschmidt started these portraits having references in roman portraiture. I also did this, but I have to stop now
In any case you’re too kind, I wish I could sculpt so strong portraits.
Something I’m working on. Two blender renders for testing. A low poly scene rendered in 30 sec (at 2000 px) . Temple is modeled in sketchup-blender-3dcoat.

Great models/sculpting and render “A low poly scene rendered in 30 sec” -> that’s awesome, cause it looks like high res and multipass
Great stuff! Really convincing, love the hue of it, and the composition! The models are flawless of course small_orange_diamond

i’d love to see more of that temple/details
Thanks etcher, dmitrij
When said low poly scene, I meant a ~ 300 k (trees lol). Original zbrush venus counts 7 millions. But base mesh at ~4 for venus ~2 fish ~1 base of statue
After baking lights, AO etc this takes seconds to rendered at 200 px.
Here, though I’m using subdivision 2x (venus statue)- displacements + nor_maps, it takes less than a min (without baking).
I’ll probably start adding SSS, another 5-6 minutes probably.
Yes, I have some decent machine here (2 xeon-nehalem 16 threads renderer, blender build r 35402 64 bit).
Dmitrij, you may already have seen this temple in 3dcoat gallery.
Basic structure-scaling in sketchup, dropped to voxels.
Anyway, a direct voxels-3dc internal render preview before retopology and depth painting (damages etc) also a capture from blender (subd on). It supposed to be a background for a scene, didn’t go for more details.

It’s amazing, really love what you did here, something special in all this. Thanks for more pics and explanations, yes that temple did ring a bell somehow
OK dmitrij thank you, but nothing special. I mean, we all trying for a more spontaneous approach, more straight forward sculpting, sketching. Not just put this here or there. I never really liked any renderer or setting up scenes. Getting boring sooner or later. A simple piece of paper and a pencil makes me happier.
Please have a look on the link Pilou posted in previous page. Fantastic indeed.
Great job of photo realism…
Thank you SD. The best comment I had so far (another forum) was “oh my, this is like a photo”. What a success
LOL:lol: …CAMERA SLAVES…Sorry, I couldn’t help myself
Its OK and you’re probably right, these are photo realist renders.
great stuff michalis. oddly the light looks pretty exactly like here in the last few days. still cold, but already shifting towards a warmer spring tone.
I see, its cold in athens too these days, even some snow, 0 c at night, have a look at previews pages then, more warmth there.
And a simple test of a new blender build. One subdivision for displacements and the rest using same disp-map as bumps. (similar to modo501 but not as crisp)
Another test render using HDR lighting + a warm light. Close to the real athens museum lighting (not the best I could say)
michalis, this looks spectacular. Great sculpt and awesome render, what more could I want!
Keep rocking.
Solid work, test after test, beautiful results
thanks minastris with your beautiful ‘similar’ pose of this lady

thank you Etcher, yes, tests, new blender builds. Still these dark areas… never mind. Better start some more sculpts.
