Transport Bot:
The guy on top is mostly painted in 2.5d. The actual model wasn’t anywhere near done.

Comped into background. I’ve never tried to match a Zbrush render with a photo before…interesting.

Very nice Meats. I particularly like the single frame match-move of the driveway. It puts it in the real world for me, much more interesting. Kudos again man.

That little guy on top of the Meatsbot could be a character from one of the paintings of Jheronimus Bosch…He’s the most famous painter from my hometown : 's-Hertogenbosch !..You can make interesting compositions if you use a fog-image, but you need the same sort of material on your groundplane as in the fog-image, i made one some time ago with my Rhino: http://www.zbrushcentral.com/zbc/showthread.php?p=185524#post185524
Its fun to watch how you improvise on the robotform, Meats :sunglasses:

Ps What is the color code of the plastic trash can for the garbage selection on this country ? (visible on the photo)

Cool! I love this one, kind of nostalgic . Reminds me the fantasy I had when I was kid.

Thanks, portart.

Thanks, regmonroe. I like having a real background in there, too. If nothing else, a reminder of what real world lighting should look like…

Jantim - Yes, Bosch! I’ve always loved him. When I think of his art, I don’t think of silly things like this driver, although. I will have to refresh my memory. I have messed around with the fog image, it’s a cool effect. I don’t know if it would have worked very well under these circumstances. I love your rhino, I remember it well.

Frenchy - We have three colors of garbage can in L.A. - black for general trash, blue for recycled, and green for lawn clippings or other yard stuff.

Here is a close-up of the driver for the transport-bot:

Well, I’m off to teach the Zbrush at Gnomon…later tonight I hope to do more, going in a different direction…:slight_smile:driver_transport_bot.jpg

Always great Meats !!

I love the gnome – organic characters, particularly those of fantastic origin, provide so much contrast to your dark mechanical constructs. This simple addition pushed your work worlds ahead in my opinion.

That said, the close-up disturbs me to no end – he’s piloting the robot because someone cut off his feet?

As a means of transport - it’ll never catch on.
As a picture myself and the little fairy that lives in my shoe both agree that we like it very well.

Now go and make sure you drive those students hard.

Thx
5 colors trash can on the old continent

I’ve done some refreshing for you Meats…

Jheronimus loved making " silly" things…and he was one of the first painters to use paint in an impasto-effect…so he would have loved Zbrush

Hi, everybody
I had been following the thread, great works, it’s impresive…
BTW i’m trying to purchase the Meats Gnomon’s dvd but can’t find it in the Gnomon site… anybody knows where find it?
Thanks a lot

FelixCat

Thanks guys.

Ctrl-Z - His feet are in little holes so he can control the robot with his feet movement. The idea that he is crippled and uses the bot for all movement is a good one.

BTW i’m an old fan of your work, never understud how you did it but enjoyed the conception, and the craftsmanship of it. This long post has been very fascinating… great idea! I hope to see others and, maybe try to participate.
