the Final Piece - image series

Wow… cool!

Quick question… while new to ZBrush… Would it be possible to export that robbie as a model or is it all ‘nailed’ on to the canvas?

Cheers
LemonNado

Meat’s models and everyone’s variation here is all 2.5d, however, if you were to use Zbrush’s multimarker tool during the creation process of something like this, then it could all be kept in 3d and exported…although, since detail like this ranges into the 10’s and 100’s of millions of polys, I’m not sure how succesful an import would be.

That’s a mean looking bloke Jantim :+1:

Yes…Mic3d,…he is !
Here is the realy last pic…retro style watercooler helmet…

Great water cooler helmet Jantim, it makes it look as if he was some kind of liquid breathing alien

Wow this is fantastic work ! I love it .

I really LOVE the last one. I think I saw something like that in my freezer last night when I grabbed some ice cream… but then again, I didn’t wear my glases…

Great Pic!!!

…must buy program…

Mic3d,pmdesign,lemonnado…thank you !
I liked the last one too, not only because he’s the “last” of my Meats-improvisations but i like the blue overcast in the picture,…a blend in photoshop with a strong blue omni-light,…it has a nice plasticlook in the suit, like an Airfix or Revell model !..this has been a fun thread , it was great to see a model build by Meats, there is a lot of great detail…and some sloppy detail by me
…oh yeh,…do buy this program !

jantim

Nice new ones, Jantim!

I think I might like the one with the desert background the best.
You are nailing those materials, you have some skills!
Actually, after looking at them a bit longer, the last one might be my choice…they all have their strengths.

Nice.

Wasn’t there a Dr. Frost or so in the Batman series? Which was played by Arnold Schwarzenegger in the Movie Version?

That’s what it reminds me the most!

I can’t take credit for the desert background…i had that image even on my old computer…don’t know where it came from…must be from a “worldbuilding” site !
I like the upper “Meats” part of the robo-suit …below the waist it’s a rush job its very sloppy in the form of the legs, no coherency in the forms…i think you used the wireframe for this model as a sort of template to keep the form in perspective !?
After i erased the lowerpart of the model it was’t easy to rebuild it in your highlevel detail .But it was fun trying out materials…i can keep go on for ever just rendering for the look of a material…but this exercise informed me of my lack in modeling in Zbrush !

I hope to see more of your original work on this forum, Meats :sunglasses:

jantim

Wasn’t that Mr Freeze…

Good Work

dumb question, is all of what I am seeing separate meshes, displaced and textured separately, markered and rendered together in Zbrush?

It takes multiple objects( displaced primatives) to get that look, correct?

As for my contribution to this thread…most of the forms i made are partialy masked z-tool primitives , but i did not use the multimarker-tool …i just placed them -one at a time - on top of each other,…and i believe Meats did not use the multimarker tool in the scene that started it all !

First things first, that is absolutely amazing. Its designs like this that inspire me to try harder. I have a question though. Is everything there possible to do within zsphere? I am the closest you come to being top noob, but are those all seperate objects, or is it all from one unique piece? I dont understand the program just yet, but the majority of my free is being devoted into this. Thanks for any info that is posted.

That was a good 3/4 hour well spent. It’s nice to come accross an unseen thread like this. Much respect for the people involved above.
I’ve not been a member here too long but from what I’ve seen, the quality of work here is truely outstanding, and I especially feel like I’m getting much inspiration, so far this year.

I’d love to buy a DVD of Meats’ or something similar but my system doesn’t sport a DVD player. I haven’t had a pc for very long and could only really afford this one, but it does a grand job IMO. So I was wondering, does anybody know of a Z-Brush book that could satisfy my need, please? If not, I guess it’s gonna be a new DVD, but that could, maybe, take a while.

no books yet…however Aurick has one coming out sometime this spring…if you can wait that long.

If it’s fast enough to run ZBrush, it’s a good computer. But surely DVD-ROM upgrades are available in your area? Where I’m sitting, adding a DVD-ROM drive to my computer costs about the same as any Gnomon video, or most computer books.

Start with all the PDFs in the ZClassroom – particularly the Practical Guide. You can purchase a printed copy of that one here, but the PDF download is free.

There’s also a ton of very informative ZScripts built into ZBrush itself. Be sure to hit the help button and check those out.

As for books you can purchase, there’s one on it’s way. Hasn’t been published yet, but you can pre-order. As aminuts mentioned, this is written by ZBC moderator Aurick, who knows this software backwards and forwards (in part because of his time here seeing the techniques we users come up with). I’ve spoke with him at Siggraph a few times, always with a tough question in mind, and always walked away with a simple explanation to make the problem go away forever. If he’s involved, I can recommend the book without having seen a page of it. This is going to be a good one.

Alternately, while I’d never recommend the content over Gnomon or Kurv’s offerings (or, y’know, at all), there is a beginner video you can buy through digital-tutors.com which ships on CD. No DVD required.

Thanx for the advice guys. I reckon a DVD-ROM could be the thang then. And of course, that book when it’s out !!!
