Status update

This, I would love to use zBrush on my Surface Pro 2.

Also another thing I’d like is Micromesh to read UV spaces. Would make it easier to make a mesh face the direction you want.

Chances are that I’ll be picking-up the keyshot upgrade at a later date. Would I be better off purchasing that through my local retailer, when it becomes available here in the uk or direct through the website.

@Spyndel
Yeah, thx. But my problem was the too much, fussy work.
I’m sure, that with this possibility to make frame-mesh over a mask, would be the work to make a web more simple and faster.
Sure, it’s possible with other ways, but that i know already.
But thx in spite of everythingagain… for the good will.

I’m unaware of many traditional modeling apps where the task of creating the same thing is as easy as “paint some lines, press two buttons”.

It may be that you need to increase your comfort level with Zbrushs painting aids like Spotlight, PM, and ZApp link. Heck, it could be applied as a procedural texture with noisemaker. The approaches are limitless, and in all cases far less fussy than actually modelling a net.

Happy Holidays!

are there any people actually still using 32 bit? i mean its 2015. 64 bit came a couple of years ago? just thinking

Pixo , We’ve been waiting a LONG time for the 64 bit. Please, please, please, provide the full 64 bit to the whole community especially for those who can’t upgrade at this time. Some of us don’t use the software for profit and money is an issue. It’s a shame that we don’t already have the 64 bit option, we could have been using more of our system resources. Is there any way that you could release the 64 bit engine to everyone? Thanks

:+1:

It has already been stated (multiple times) that this will be the case. Your installation of 4R7 will include both 32-bit and 64-bit flavors. Run whichever you prefer. However, only the 32-bit version will be officially supported. Converting to 64-bit requires a lot of programming on the core engine which in turn means a LOT of testing to make sure that no issues crop up in the process. Many people depend upon ZBrush for their livelihoods. The last thing we want is for a major issue to sneak through and leave people unable to work properly until such time as the issue can be fixed. We don’t expect that, but it’s not a gamble we’re willing to make when there’s a simple alternative. So the 32-bit version will still be there for you to fall back on in the unlikely event that there is indeed a problem with the 64-bit side.

When ZBrush 5 comes out, that will be 64-bit only. Until then, EVERYONE will have access to the 64-bit version of ZBrush 4R7, included as part of your free upgrade from 4R6 or earlier.

@Spyndel yeah, i understand.
Was just an idea of me with the masking and frame mesh.
I’ve no problem to paint or use the other ways.
:wink:

Thank you, Dillster, I appreciate it. But it’s long hair I would need to render, and I’ve still got to find out what the version they’ll be selling us can do. And I would need a solution to the morph target problem in any case.

clwnface, long hair renders the same quality in Keyshot.

KeyShot for ZBrush is exactly the same as KeyShot 5 HD with a larger render size. I believe that there is a trial of KeyShot available, which means that you can test its functionality (sans the ZBrush to KeyShot Bridge) yourself. Or you could wait for 4R7 to come out and test with the trial at that time.

Thank you both for your help. I’ll take a look.

I hope the dev team takes their time in developing the best version of zBrush yet. I am biting my nails in anticipation of it’s release! :smiley:

Absolutely looking forward to it. Thank you for all your hard work!

hopefully there will be some online document or video tutorials in the ZClassroom on how to use the new tools and features, just to bring existing and new ZBrush artists up to speed.

Happy New Year to the Pixologic Team. Awesome as always!
