Can we get another status update?
Jumping from 32 to 64 bit is not an easy task.
I bet, the z bridge to keyshot is not the reason, this is the easier part.
I could wait for months, as long as it takes anyway.

Agreed. Well, I guess it would not be easy.

Maybe so. I’m looking forward to the bridge.

We’ll all have to wait, for as long as it takes.

My point exactly, a week, a month, two months, we stand loyal
Loyal, indeed.
Thank you for the update Pixolator. The poly modeling Joseph Drust demoed looked fantastic. Thinking of ZBrush 1.23b and 2.0 still makes me smile, but this next version really takes the cake IMO. What you guys at Pixologic have sculpted ZBrush into is something truly special.
I remember ZB 2. A strange little hybrid program that I liked. I remember taking a “snapshot”
of everything.
ZB 3, I did not bond with at all.
ZB 4 – I have really made a serious effort to learn this version.
I AM excited about the upcoming features in 4.7!
Spending the wait time doing Version 4 tutorials. It does help.

I agree, I give up. ill be back on when the release happen.
Last post see you guys when they release it
Does anyone know if there are ways to create seams now with the new tools? I’ve seen all of the promotional videos but I don’t think I’ve heard anything about creating seams within Zbrush. I know that UV master has a way to paint seams and such but I do prefer just selecting edges and creating them myself. Usually. Would be nice not having to go out of Zbrush to do so.
theres various different methods you could use. But if your hard pressed for edge selection that doesnt exist… yet. maybe in the new version.
but you COULD make poly groups and then in uv master you can create uv islands based on polygroups. i personally find this to often be a quicker method than edge selection.
but thats not really seams. thing is zbrush treats the attract and protect options with i guess a vertex painting mode. you CAN get it to specify an edge. zbrush does a really great job at it. But i get your want for actual edge selection.
i wouldnt be surprised if something like that was added to uv master in this new version.
If you want seam control - just create separate polygroups for the uvw islands you desire and hit unwrap with polygroups enabled in uvw master. Can actually be a bit faster than selecting seams one you get the hang of it.
I’ll have to give it a try, I seem to recall that the new tools make exact poly grouping easier so that may be a more viable method for r7. Thanks for the reply, I figured there wouldn’t be any edge seam creating in r7 but it’s good to know for sure XD
I have a question about the price… Since I do not own a licence for ZB 4R6 - how much will I have to pay to get 4R7 when it’s released?
During the 2014 Summit I’ve heard something about 349$ but I`m not quite sure if I got it right.
So please explain it for me as you would for a 10 YO kid
If one have 4R6 licence - the upgrade is free. Correct or wrong?
If one does not have 4R6 licence and is buying a fresh copy of 4R7 it’s 349$. Correct or wrong?
Thanks in advance for any reliable info,
have a great 2015 guys
The price of ZBrush is $795 now and will remain so when 4R7 is released. If you buy now you get the free upgrade to 4R7. If you wait to buy, you still pay the same $795.
The $349 price that you are referring to is for the bundle of KeyShot for ZBrush and the ZBrush to KeyShot Bridge. This is totally separate from the ZBrush license.
So:
$795 will give you:
ZBrush 4R6 and/or 4R7
$1190 will give you:
ZBrush 4R6 and/or 4R7
KeyShot for ZBrush
the ZBrush to KeyShot Bridge
Either way, you’re still paying $795 for ZBrush.
I thought the intro price for the Keyshot/bridge bundle was going to be $259.
Like a limited time offer.
Is that not right?
Actually they said that the intro price would be $249 for Keyshot and the Bridge. If anyone remembers Robert Plant asking “Has anyone seen the bridge?” - now we know what he was talking about!
Thanks, PhilW.
Good – 10 dollars cheaper than I thought!
Yes. Sorry. $349 is the final price. $249 is an introductory price. No word has been given regarding how long the introductory period will be.
I should have been more clear in my reply.
No big deal.
Thank you, aurick.
I will jump to conclusions sometimes. I thought I’d mis-read the original advert for ZB 4r7 and
the Keyshot bridge.
I appreciate the clarification.
