Really hope it is January (and soonish) I am actually finding myself holding off on beginning projects in pure stubbornness, because I want to play with the new box modeling tools so badly and nothing else is good enough hahaha
Keep up the brilliant work Pixo… I just know that this is going to be a EPIC release.
D
I seem to recall another update that came out around Jan 20th or so one year… that give them a few weeks to finish up what didn’t get done in December, and set up download links…
They were obviously almost done as it was, and probably just ended up with a few last minute bugs they wanted to squash, or new features that needed to be cleaned up a bit more.
April is a great month, not too cold.
You learn a little about the new brushes, render, go outside walk around
Perfect.
bicc39 Troll ALERT!
Hey man go sculpt something… Preferably an egg, 3D scan it, then wait for it to hatch…
“We have therefore decided to postpone the release of Z4R7 from December to January.”

Everyone is already at the edge of their seats for the arrival, don’t cause a RIOT
I just hope its released early January…Maybe they will release it when its close to income tax
I am so excited and hyped!
I see the best part of this update as the addition of the 64-bit framework. Strict 32-bit was making me crazy in more ways than one:
The box modeling looks so amazing, Ill be using Maya bridge a bit less now honestly if it is as quick an intuitive as it appears. Only thing I worry about honestly is changing the curriculum and or lesson plans a bit for the “intro to zBrush” course I plan to teach. I speculate I can teach another route to general base mesh construction with the new tool.
I have been dreaming of 64 bit. This by itself will change everyone workflow … I wonder if the box modeling tools will spill over to retopology
thebest12 maybe the Qrememsher brush is the new topology brush or helps with topology?
I have a few questions and hopes.
I’m hoping the Zmesherbrush works with dynamash that would open doors of possibilities,
Or do we have to go into dynamic mode then go into dynamesh then back to dynamic mode or is the dynamic mode with zmesherbrush takes the place of dynamesh? i have no idea.
when you use dynamic mode could you bring it over to the keyshot using the bridge without applying any subdivions to the model it if that makes sense?
ok that’s my question and hope I am right or tell me if | am wrong?

we both have so many questions???
The Zremesher guides has to many issues. I wish we had more controls over it. I think its easier to just drop in a sphere and retopo. Maya modeling tool kit has spoiled me
it’s good to have questions and hopes for the new beast that is gonna be coming out. I stopped using maya years ago stopped doing 3d art. Then I saw zbrush4r2 . my mouth hitting the floor agasped. zbrush4r2 was a game changer for the artist industry. zbrush4r7 is gonna be another game changer and zbrush5 can’t even imagine what they will have then.

are you a 2d artist???
no i’m not drawing etc is not my best thing
Good gracious I can’t wait to get my hands on 4r7!!
Thank you for the update Pixolator. The poly modeling Joseph Drust demoed looked fantastic. Thinking of ZBrush 1.23b and 2.0 still makes me smile, but this next version really takes the cake IMO. What you guys at Pixologic have sculpted ZBrush into is something truly special.
In any case here is a much belated merry christmas and a happy new year.
Hi! Sorry for my bad english.
With sincere and infinite Respect to the Pix-Team Skills and Efforts, i don’t understand why they insist on 32-bits versions… Actually all the available hardware are 64-bits architecture, at least in graphic-design area of course…
Anyway, can’t wait to ZB4r7 and really Thanks for it.
Probably because not all the users are on 64bit machines. Supporting 32 bit for this version will give folks time to phase out their 32 bit systems/pipelines (thinking of home users specifically) if they haven’t already. That seems the better approach than risking to cut off a portion of your user base.
Can we get another status update?
So I know whether to keep holding my breath, or not?

Because Zbrush is used in high end pipelines. If there are problems with the 64-bit version there needs to be something to fall back on. I’d be more worried if they didn’t offer a 32-bit version during the transition. A single user it’s not such a big deal, but when you’re talking about multiple high end studios with complex pipelines losing a day’s worth of work can cost thousands if not millions. Name one software that didn’t offer 32-bit versions during their transition to 64-bit.
