Status update

you are the one arguing and smearing people…I don’t know you and want pretend to know you. I have know Idea what you are talking about by saying I do this often…you are starting to creep me out

Yes, I am arguing with you. No, I am “smearing” no one. My remarks are not personal, even though I am aggressively attacking your arguments, and posting history on this topic. I’m sure you’re a fine fellow, but I find your stated opinions largely baseless and occasionally insulting, and I’m going to continue to challenge you when I feel you’ve said something problematic.

As for how often you do this, I think it would be a simple matter for someone to click on your posting history and see what a consistently negative influence you’ve been in every thread on the topic of the update from the very beginning, and how often you seem to get into spats with other people on the subject, because they challenge your precious “opinion”.

We get it…you don’t like…Keyshot, or something or another about the update because it’s not what you want, or some such, for some reason you’ve never really made a compelling argument for. It’s your right to have that opinion. But you keep imposing that opinion at every opportunity with questionable statements, and I’m going to keep challenging you on it.

If you feel any of the points I made when addressing your statement are inaccurate or weak, make an argument. That’s how this works.

at least I know now you like to argue… If anyone wants to check my post history to verify his smearing campaign just click my profile. I guarantee you he saw 3 post he didnt agree with and came to the conclusion I only post negative things ,

@Thebest12

Buddy, I’ve been arguing with you for months on this thing. I remember you saying the same things months ago in the the original r7 thread, and my opinion about your opinion hasn’t changed since then. I’m going to keep arguing with you about it, so I suggest you limit your comments to statements that hold up better under scrutiny.

I am, however, only going to argue about things on topic, so I apologize to everyone for getting sidetracked.

If you care to try and support your statement about how Pixologic was only offering the Keyshot Bundle to bilk their users out of money, I will be happy to continue knocking that down all day. If you still want to moan about people suppressing your opinion because they disagree with it and make an argument as to why they do, then we’re done here.

LMAO Man that was a great argument… Okay SO i’m excited this month is going FAST! Day 5 of Jan. and I have like 4 awesome gifts due to arrive between now and March.

I wonder if the new Zmodeler Brush works with retopologizing characters well.

So far it just seems like a great tool for creating low res objects.

you need meds, or you can become a spokesperson for pixologic, please stop twisting my words, and assuming what I meant, I never said milking people out of their money, just chill out, and try to respect other people opinions

I downloaded the demo of Keyshot 4 and experimented till the time limit ran out.

I am going to try to see if I can get a demo of Keyshot 5, but don’t know if I get another chance
since there’s been an upgrade or not. Maybe so.

I hope I can find the slot for the gloss maps this time.

What you said, and the obvious implication in it, are quoted a page back as is my response to it–which you’ve still not addressed in any meaningful fashion. People can read for themselves if they care.

However, saying “Maybe they chose this path to make money off of Keyshot” is both insulting to a company that has never given their user base cause to suspect that maximizing profits was a primary motivational force in their business model–you know, on account of them giving so much of it away for free–and dismissive of the opinions of all the people who have made great, informed points about why the OPTIONAL Keyshot bundle is going to be a good fit for a lot of people, and all the valid ways professionals use Keyshot to great effect. The optional bundle priced to be within the reach of most hobbyists, by the way. It suggests there are no other perfectly valid reasons for this move.

It was utter nonsense, and I identified it as such.

It would be like me saying, “Maybe Thebest12 needs medication.” It may be based in opinion, but it’s vaguely insulting and unsubstantiated. People would be within their rights to aggressively challenge me on it. I would be a massive jerk to make that kind of pointed speculation about someone I don’t know. Thank goodess you’d never do that, in lieu of say, supporting a questionable statement you’ve made with anything resembling a better argument.

I totally do need some meds though. I’ve got a splitting migraine for some reason…

LOL…Excedrin time.

Just kidding – migraines are horrendous.

Since someone mentioned the magic words (PBR materials), now I get it. I’ve always associated Pixologic with innovation, so it’s completely logical that they’re offering a route to PBR. I gather many people use ZB to create game figures.

Modo is already accepting “substances,” from Substance Designer – not metalness, but diffuse/normal/spec map substances.

That said, I was able to get the KS 5 demo, and it’s really wonderful. I don’t remember liking KS 4 this much.

If it wasn’t for that pesky watermark, all across my nice renders.

All righty. Well…hope 4r7 and the bridge are released soon!

There is some kind of “method” for settling things right.
It is very lively described by Joe Abercrombie in his books:

it is called “the circle” and it boils down to a lot of people building a circle (shields inwards) and two people that switch to a nonverbal discussion (mostly) inside this circle.

Sometimes I get the feeling that a bit of circle would be the solution to an end of these not that helpful discussions/posts?

Btw: multipass BPR rendering and post in ps is the way to go :)!!

I cant wait, I wonder if the clip brushes and slice brushes will get a upgrade. I would love to use these brushes without deforming the geometry. I could just imagine

I am loving the clip curve brush.

It creates lovely bevels on edges, if I get the angle right.

I think the slice curve and dynamash is the best combo for clean cuts. The clip brushes only push the topology together creating problems, But I have seen people that use inflate with clip curves…

The Trimcurv brush operates as the clipcurv brush, but actually removes geometry instead of flattening it. However, it works best in single, straight line cuts, and doesn’t work in a number of situations.

Slicing, manually deleting, and closing holes is a more labor intensive approach to the situation that works where the trim brushes sometimes don’t.

However, with proper technique, the Clip Curve brush works with dynamesh just fine, and it allows for the most elaborate deformations. The key is to remember the “clip” brushes are actually “flatten” brushes, and not to flatten geometry that will overhang the target plane. It is better at times to flatten in stages–an initial “clip” to flatten overhanging geometry inward, and then another to flatten down. Flattened overhangs can usually be cleaned up with quick use of the Trim brush.

A thin, 3d “cutting” object can be used as a dynamesh sub in difficult situations where other methods fail to achieve the desired results.

There’s a lot about ZBrush that I still have to learn, so I’ll just read what you guys wrote and try to put it to use.

I am always on Google hangout using zbrush ddanielshenmue

OK. Thanks. :sunglasses:

I am thinking of a release date of say March 10.
What we could do, is everyone put up a dollar, pick a date, actual release
date is the winner.
Aurick can hold the money.
Had dinner with him Saturday, and he is agreeable.

They said January.

Please, let it be January.

March
third
2015
now , where to put the money?
About this one dollar thingie: will make a most shallow pool, therefore I raised to three $$.

ehy dont joke…pixo said january…and now is january…:rage:
