love it man, especially the face !
thanks still not really feeling it, idk It needs a direction, something I can take it in and know that it is done. right now its up in the air.
looking great man, neat character
thanks, I hope something comes of it
okay I think I’m giving up on this piece. I guess I chose to pursue the wrong sculpt…
Idk, but anyway I decided to just tweak it and shelve it for now.

I don’t know what the heck I was thinking with this piece. I was on a roll there, and man, this one kinda killed it. I’m sorry for those who followed me through this piece. Its not up to par with other work I’ve been doing as of late, and to those professionals out there I do apologize. I will take more care in choosing my pieces.
why so depressed ?;D IF you had fun, then it was worth the time ;] And it a pretty good work ;f
I think I can salvage the body for another piece I had an idea for. Lets hope
Complete the model, giving up on a model due to lack of inspiration is a weakness…
Man up, finish what you started.
idk maybe you’re right

You’re right, and I didn’t give up. I actually thought a lot about what you said and I agree with you 100% Its not what people here do, and neither will I. So what if the piece isn’t going my way, I’ve been doing this long enough to make something look decent even if I cant find direction. And now I know where I’m going.
I’m going to place cloth draped from his shoulder guard down to his waist, and do some vines(leaf) on his legs. And all green, everything in earth tones, with an emphasis on Green. I might lose the tail depends. I finally found the character within the sculpt. Its rough now I know, but Its the idea that I’m happy with, which was something I could even figure out before.

thats the spirit !
Anyway i loled hard when i saw this guy with horns, guess i didnt expect that, still good work !
well when I redo the color the antlers will fit in more. I know its sort of a dramatic turn, but I now have a direction to travel in. something I didn’t have before. Theres a lot more to be done, but I’ll start to come together in the next few posts.
Also the antlers fill out the silhouette, and complete the composition from the front, while providing a slight S-curve when viewing the character from the side.
an update:

I’m not ready to show the feet yet, and the textures are just base, they’ll be detailed on top of it. and I need to add those vines growing up his leg and that cloth.

cool character. It has some similarities to a character I came up with awhile back.
Digitalmind: thanks
Mr-NYM: I doubt you went through the **** storm I went through with this character. I gave up on it. I have slice to thank for making me pick it back up again and now I’m on a different road with it (it originally was a thundercats concept) But now I found the character within the sculpt and am moving forward happily
Nice progression on this new character Framedworld…
Might want to make the base of the horns a little thicker and more boney/snarly where they connect to his skull…Wondering what he would look like with longer and more rounded at the top deer/elk/moose like ears…
I like the idea of predator/prey mix for a forest god…Nice concept…
