Questions and Troubleshooting for ZBrush 3.5 Windows

Post straightening out download link with Z-support & Cleverbridge:

Followed update process; only ZB 3.1 launches.

Uninstall, repeat update? Didn’t want to try this first in case 3.5 was a patch rather than a complete version.

Thanks to whomever.

OS:WinXP Pro
PC/2GB/350GB disc free

Thanks, this fixed my problems on Windows 7 Ultimate x64 RTM.

I created a folder \Program Files (x86)\Pixologic\Zbrush and placed all files here. Then ran Zbrush.exe as an administrator.

yeah…problems solved

SWEEET!!!

Thanks to all…hope the studios buy many licenses, pour in lotsa R&D credit and pay all your bills (there is no “free” lunch, people):+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:

I downloaded the new file for 3.5. I was able to extract it to the C:Program Files (x86) But when I double click on the Zbrush.exe icon in the 3.5 folder, I get a window that opens up at the bottom of my screen and does nothing. Task Manager has it listed as a process, but nothing in the Tasks to “end task”. I can’t right click on the window to close it, I can’t restore it so it opens. Just sits there with a whirly icon, what I call spinning it’s wheel.

To make matters even worse, I can’t open 3.1 now without it saying, something is wrong with my License and I need to recover it and contact Pixologic.

I am running Vista 64 bit home premium with sp1. 6 gig ram

Edit: I have tried running zbrush 3.5 as Admin and it does the same thing, just sits there like a lump on a log.

As stated, I am running a Win XP os, with Service Pack 3 installed.

I’m running XP64. Can’t get ZBrush started. Have done what was advised:

Extracted folder to C:\Program Files (x86)\Pixologic\ZBrush 3.5

Installed latest C++ Redistributables from Microsoft –

x86 9.0.30729.4148
x64 9.0.30729.4148

Changed ZBrush.exe properties:

User account priviledges – Allow non-administrators to run this program is checked

Folder permissions – Administrator and user(myself) have been given Full Control permissions

It would be helpful if Pixologic could provide detailed instructions for installation including screenshots for proper installation on XP64.

Hi folks,

Is ZB 3.5 compatible with the old working horse Windows 2000?

I am possibly one of the last out here using Windows 2000. It works fine with ZB 3.1. But if I try to start ZBrush 3.5, I receive an error message that says something like this (originally in German, so I try to translate):

'enty point of procedure “AddVectoredExceptionHandler” not found in DLL “KERNEL32.dll” ’

Any help out there ? I would be happy if ;)!

CPU: Intel Pentium 3 GHz
RAM: 3 GByte
GPU: NVIDIA GForce 6600 GT
System: MS Windows 2000 SP4

Now its my turn :frowning:

I start by guiding through the installation process of the pdf file attach to the zbrush 3.5 folder .
after install the program i need to Enter registered e-mail address at the time of purchase and it isn’t working , unfortunately
i tried 3 different emails that i have and its not working with each of them .
this was my registered e-mail addres : [email protected]
as good as i remember

A NOTE FOR MACINTOSH USERS:

Mac users - who received temporary Windows license while waiting for ZBrush 3 to be released for the Macintosh - may receive an upgrade link for ZBrush 3.5 Windows. If you are a Mac user who has not purchased a Windows ZBrush license, do not use the upgrade link that was emailed to you. Doing so will prevent you from being able to upgrade your Mac license when ZBrush 3.5 is released for the Macintosh.

If the previous paragraph applies to you, please submit a ticket at http://support.pixologic.com so that we can clear the Windows license off your account and re-activate your Mac license. Do this whether or not you have redeemed the upgrade.

Image3.jpg I’ve downloaded ZB3.5 without any problems…everything seems to be working fine…so this isn’t an installation question.
I’ve transferred/copied some tools that I made in ZB3.1 over to ZB3.5…on using the “Load Tool” procedure in 3.5 I noticed that I no longer get the little image box below the files I’m opening…I found this very useful when loading tools in 3.1…(see attached images)…All the tools still load up fine but as you can see I have them numbered “bit 01,02,03 etc” so to see a small image of the tool was very useful to me…Can anybody tell me if I’m missing something simple here??..is there some way to get this image window showing as it was with ZB3.1??

Any help would be much appreciated…Thanks!

I wait a E-mail for Zbrush 3.5 upgrade.
But I can found any E-mail from Pixologic in My account.
anyone wait a E-mail for upgrade or just me?

Has anybody else had this problem?

I worked on a file in 3.5 for about 7 hours with no problems. I was trying to save the file and it crashed zbrush. When I try to open up the file now I get this…

Internal Error .\Mash3DDXF.cpp Line: 12976

error while reading HighDef data
Object:

no way to get the file open now. I’m guessing its hosed alone with the 7 hours since my only back up was 1 hour in.

I’m done beta testing it for now, I’ll be waiting for version 3.6 I’m guessing

If anybody does no how to recover the file, I’d love to get that work back.

Did you try the new recovery ZTL that is in the Recovery Folder?

Have you made a support ticket at support.pixologic.com? Are you using the same email that you originally registered your ZBrush with? If not that is why you have not received your upgrade.

Paul

Put this up on https://support.pixologic.com/ so that you have a ticket created for yourself to manage.

Paul

I have Zbrush 3.1 installed in a separate directory.
Using WinXP Pro system with 100 gigs of disk free:

I run Zbrush 3.5 and it tries to start but never gets past hour glass after long wait.

Multiple tries and it never starts; just the hour glass.

DEP is off.

Tried running vcredist_x86_VS2008_sp1.exe to repair but no effect; same symptom as before; won’t start.

Ran Windows update to get latest; still no luck.

Suggestions???

Thanks,

James

Did you try the new recovery ZTL that is in the Recovery Folder?

Not sure what this is? recovery folder?

I have one recovered file in the recovered files folder, but its not the same file I am trying to open.

As far as I can tell there is no recovered file for the file that is doing the crashing.

On the same topic as my last post. The recovered file that is in the recovery folder is a zbrush doc. The file I’m trying to recover that crashed and won’t open now is a Tool.

So I’ve actually lost the entire tool not the Document. Does the new Recovery feature try to recover Tools as well? That would be awesome if it did.

Is it possible for pixologic to recover a file that has been corrupted? The file I have lost is 200 megs so I’d send it but I want to know its going to be useful first.

Transpose masking doesnt show in the viewport unless you manually mask a small section prior.

Coye

It is working but you have to click View Mask first. This is being fixed.
