Presenting ZBrush 4R7 (Updated with Summit Recaps)

I am pretty shure that it went the other way around, that it were the Keyshot people who contacted Pixologic.
So if someone wants the render engine they like to be added to ZBrush 5, all they have to do is convince the company that creates it to code a bridge that integrates as perfectly as Keyshot does.

I am absolutely shure Pixologic would not mind bridges to, say, VRay, Arnold, Indigo, Maxwell and Marmoset.

The more, the merrier.

When will be release zb4r7??? Any idea???

Pixologic have only stated

ZBrush 4R7 is set for a fall 2014 release!*

*Release information will be made available at a later date.

We are still awaiting that ‘later date’

Marmoset is a GPU renderer - KS and Zbrush are using the CPU.

Give us 4r7, we are an anxious, blood thirsty crowd of torch and pitchfork wielding 3d artists! Up in arms over being forced to wait for our 6th free update!!!
Really tho its all so appreciated.

So sometime in 3 months we will get it :frowning: … I want a change in workflow already haha.

Yea, ran into some memory issues yesterday. Really really really want that 64 bit version at this point. GRRRRRRRRRR

Any SSS render?

Hey Vladrac,

Keyshot has some excellent translucent materials that react really well at render time.

I am so ready for the update. I’m working on a new project and could really utilize the new sculpting stuff they teased us with at the zBrush summit. Bless their hearts I know the pressure is on trying to make sure everything is in place and in order for this new release. Patients is a virtue y’all.

In Keyshot, Translucent covers that, and it does a great job with full control of surface and sub surface colours combined with the models textures. Also, Keyshot has several actual skin materials to choose from.

WOW, Pixologic you are the best. Funny thing, I was learning Blender, and I thought, wouldn’t it be great if this kind of modeling was in ZBrush, The next day I went to ZBrush Central and there it was, and more, and 64 bit…can hardly wait for this one. I watched all the videos looks fantastic. Thank you, thank you, thank you…rog

Are We There YET?

A ZBrush Bridge and KeyShot package will be offered at an MSRP of $349. However, we will offer an introductory pricing of $249. This offer will be available upon the release of ZBrush 4R7.

Its mean 249$-349$ for Zbrush and KeyShot?!
I understand corectly?!
Now price of Zbrush is 795$ its strange…
This is huge discount.
IF its true i can say shut up and take my money bye bye MAX and MODO xD

No, you are misunderstanding. That package is SEPARATE from ZBrush itself. It’s a completely optional add-on, not included in the price of ZBrush.

It would be nice to know what price just the bridge will cost. I’m kinda hoping it will be free after paying $995 for keyshot.

I wish they didn’t announce the upgrade and released it without a word when it was ready. I feel like I’m being tortured after seeing the teasers and staring at another quicksave that happened ten minutes too late.

64bit…

Can we start a kickstarter campaign to speed up the release? Ha Ha

J

I wish they didn’t announce the upgrade and released it without a word when it was ready.

No doubt they would’ve done it that way if it was the usual free upgrade and they weren’t including the Keyshot bridge option, which will cost a couple hundred dollars for those who want it. I, for one, am grateful to know about that sort of thing ahead of time.

People are always asking “when will we see the next update, 64 bit, ZBrush 5 etc.” Personally I’m glad Pixologic showed us what is coming next, even if we do have to wait a couple of months for it.

It might well be they were planning to do that for the summit but things turned out differently. Nothing unsusual in software develpment, especially when moving to 64 bit which requires deep architectural changes.
