didnt you read? there will be 64-bit version. all this in 4 gb ram 32-bit system what will happen in 20 gb ram 64-bit system for example the amount of details is huge may be we will see a half trillion polygon model,the animator will cray and the 3d industry will suffer :sunglasses:

Pixo folks, please give us a hint, as to when ZB 4R7 will be released.

Pixologic has made my decision to stay with zbrush over all other applications alot easier.

You have just saved my sanity. My daily routine of constantly checking email and website was becoming unhealthly habitual.

Why bridge? Why not goZ so it can be free? Anyways I’d rather export from Zbrush then import to Keyshot manually as I’ve been doing for the past couple of years than pay 300+ USD for what really?

From what you’ve written, it sounds like you already have Keyshot. Surely you don’t need to pay the $300? They did say they will be releasing just the bridge at some point (cost not mentioned yet). I would like to think it would be free. I mean, after paying $995 or $1995 for Keyshot version, the price would have to be reasonable to get just the bridge.

I’m currently using Octane and is a steal at $299 and blinking fast (Titan Black). Shame Pixologic hadn’t gone down OTOY route instead of Luxion. But then again… you never know what’s happening with all the development :wink: I know there has to be some secrecy around development, but it would be nice to see the routemap or have the community be able to have input. I think the guys at Epic (Unreal Engine 4) have got it down to a ā€˜T’.:bulb:

Fall is meaningless outside of USA. Bloody annoying term for a company that sells internationally to use.

sorry if i interrompt you all the talk about keyshot but have you heard of Renderman that cost now 495$ ?

they even have a free version for non-commercial purpose !

I can’t wait for this release. I know many of you won’t use the low polygon new features because you prefer to do those in maya or 3dMax, Personally I like modo but I know I can be 100 time faster if I can do that in Zbrush.
About the KeyShot discussion … I have no doubt it will be awesome! and I am glad they ā€œdidn’t t marryā€ another renderer.

I think the glamour of Keyshot is the simplicity and quick concept iteration. Renderman is for production and while your learning all the new parameters, the lack of polypainting support and figuring out how to import and adjust maps, can really be time consuming when your just trying to show off a cool concept…
So just for the sake of an intuitive solution Keyshot wins, but I must admit in the long run you will get much more for your money with Renderman. It is a proven app and eventually for personal work you will eventually have to learn how to work production based renders.

Things I’m hoping for in ZB5:

  • UI improvements

  • Production Based Scale Support For Cameras etc.

  • I’m hoping for layer improvements and UV-based painting like in Mari.

  • No NODES yuck

  • It would be awesome if we had a bridge to MAYA which allowed us to rig in Zbrush and it translated over into Maya. With this rigging system it would be awesome if it had a muscle system and weight painter for deformations…

I honestly thought Fall was just what you guys in the states called Autumn. So, wouldn’t that make it start at the ā€˜beginning’ of September, rather than the end?

I’m really hoping to see some additional features since neither the low poly modeling or Keyshot bridge interest me in the least. I understand that a lot of others are really excited about these additions but if I want to poly model I will be doing that in Max. If I want a pretty render it’s Vray 3 all the way.

Still hoping for better texture painting, usable layers and ability to import cameras for proper projection techniques. Maybe in 5.
