“I 4m t3h m4ster H4xx0r!”
that’s priceless lemo
omg lemo! crack me up!
and rick your stuff’s lookin pretty good too!
lemo, I can always count on you to make me laugh. That’s histerical the only thing that I would do is have the little guy making a ZB version of me on his lap top to scare his friends.
slashpot, I was high on ZBrush.
Voodoomonkey, you were right!
Bas, It’s a new toy all over again
Plakkie 4 years ago I didn’t know my name either.
jantim, yes to both questions. I didn’t know there was a shadows options at first but was really happy to discover it and I did poly paint some of the shadows .Also on the guy in the cave in PS I painted it darker still in the back of the cave. I also do a lot of messing around with the intensity of the a and b and their depth . The funny thing is that the material that the little slimy guy is made out of is just the same old jellybean material that I tweaked a bit. I wish I understood the materials as well as you do.
Plakkie shocking and dirty. Alright!
Boozy,You know at first I was not in love with the Matcap materials and their real time shadows. I still don’t really understand them. When I was modeling I would use the fastshader still because you can move the light around and I think that is really important. Once I started polypainting I became more in love with the materials. to see the image rendered as you work on it is great. I’m anxious to learn more about them. I find in 3.0 the same thing that I found in V2 that The images once you export them out of ZB don’t have the same intensity when you open them in say PS . so I have adjusted the levels on all of these images in PS as I have always done with my V2 images .Some of the depth especially on the guy in the cave was painted in PS
jmeyer I’ll try and keep them coming but I 'm about to start a new job and won’t have much free time.
Thanks again everyone your responses fuel my work.
Rick

While I was at Lunch with Jason Bakutis today (http://www.zhibit.org/jbakutis) and discussing to which Zhab facility Rick should go, we had the little guy slaving away on a model… scary one

monstermaker, words are useless sometimes simply unbellievable

This is very much a WIP from a bunch of models that other people made. Started with the dog that came with the beta ,got the bat wings and the bird feet from models that came with Modo, cluged them together into this WIP that is based loosely on a cool sculpture that I really love in Paris. I have lots to do on this, like figure out the anatomy, I’m no Zack Petroc. After I finish blocking out the forms I’ll detail and poly paint him. I wanted to play more with transpose so that is why I started this guy.
top notch Rick, especially like the Ufoundme pic, my fav by far
The WIP pose is just awesome! Lots of life in there…really coming in for the attack. Look forward to seeing the updates. Looks like a ton of fun.

Jeezus MM, Give my Awed reflexes time to rest. Everytime I go to post the old “damn thats good” response you slam me with another one!
Your new critter W.I.P is perhaps my favorite. I will be interested in seeing how that comes out
Chokes with amazement! Yeah what Fordy said Rick. I can’t believe you felt you had to tell us what you do. Very cool work, I love the old guy with the piercings. Angie
Wuuuuuu Rick, incredible man. I really like the sailor, and the creepy material for the mutant-embyo-frogs-slimes.
Ah, and congrats for the makeup of Norbit, i saw the film some weeks ago and falled in love with the woman-tank xDDDD.
See you soon Rick
wow, those Statue-monsters have improved much in a few days; the detailing on the skin is just right on! Was it done with an alpha sculpting technique? Also love the bronze thing going on. Keep posting!
…revival in piercing fashion victim!
All this shameless idolizing of that Rick… Whatshisname is getting quite embarrassing, now. Stop it, you hear! All of you! Listen carefully: Monstermaker is NOT a god. His JUST a mere mortal like the rest of us! hmpf Pathetic fanboyism… mumble, grumble
And BTW: That pop-eye is waaay too much out of proportion to the geezers skull. Hopeless modeling. What a hack…
But seriously: Don’t understand he had to introduce himself? What was he supposed to have opened with? “My name is Rick Baker, and I guess you all know who I am.” Yeah, right…
That is one seriously wonderful Dragoatiger Rick!!!
Lemo
PS:Do you plan to have it ‘3D printed’?
Actually Lemo its a Dragtigagoner. closely related to the Tigagon and the Drager. I could see how you could make that mistake. and no I don’t have any plans to 3D print this it is made of many subtools each consitsing of millions of polys.
Whatever that is, its great eye candy.
Keep posting I’m sure enjoying it.
