Those zombies looks pretty āsickā (thatās sort of compliment).

Love the buried skulls!
Is that your Zsandbox? Can I play too?
Damn Rick, I love this groundā¦
Did you used the spray brush with small spheres to simulate thos sand effect?
The shader is also greatā¦
I find hard sopmetime to paint realistic grounds⦠I would love to see that in normalmapā¦
Yeah man. Youāre on fire.
The skulls in the ground (sand?) really gets the imagination going.
Rick, Great work! Really wonderful! Itās also reassuring to see someone whoās still got a passion for producing art⦠just for the fun of it. Having a professional life of make-up effects doesnāt seem to have numbed your artistic senses at all. Inspirational!

I love those little bat-critters! reminds me some kind of twisted fruit
Rick, amazingly detailed work. I hope you donāt mind me asking but what sort of computer hardware system do you run to help create this level of detail. There is so much amazing artwork in the gallery I just wonder what sort of minimum system is required to create them. Once again yu beaut work. Larry
āHelp Meā??? Heck no, Iām having too much fun watching the show!
Wow, the zombie critter in the cave is awesome.
Sorry to be so repetitious with the stuff that I am posting here but one thing leads to another. I was liking the little guy in the lower right corner of the previous post and didnāt like the way it looked in the compressed image that I posted so I made a bigger version. I made a quick cave to put him and some more rocks.
yes Seb I used the spray stroke to put down a bunch of small sand like rocks in the image that you responded to . The funny thing is that I used an old model of a brain for the small rocks. It is the same thing I used for the thing that the little guys are hanging from in the bat cave image.
When I first started playing with this beta I was playing with the new modeling capabilities. but these last few images were more about polypainting and materials and I must say that I am really having a blast.
Iām also in love with the real time render or whatever it is called that fact that you donāt have to wait for a render is great you see how it is looking as you are working on it . It is especially usefull when you are polypaint on a material. I used some old models to mess with and it is so much fun and more immediate than starting a new very detailed sculpt. Actually those were fun too.
I sorry that I didnāt start playing with the beta sooner. The problem was that I am a mac user and donāt have a new mac that does windows as well and I hate my PC. Meshmehanic to answer your question I am now using a 64 bit Boxx machine I donāt know all of the details about it but it is sweat!
It has made me get over my dislike of PCās.
mxhaunted I donāt know that I would call it art, but I certainly am having fun.
Thanks everyone for your response to the stuff that I am doing
Rick
Surf with firefox, donāt install a lot of extra software, and your windows install should stay clean.
Gee MM,
Shame you donāt have any imagination!
Bloody Amazing mate!
(but could you send me some of what u were smoking when you did āyou found meā?)
Hey Rick,
I knew you were going to like the vertex painting
Cheers

Rick, realy amazing! It looks like you discover ZB again
Cheers, keep posting!
Rick, I must admit that I didnāt know your name when I started with 3D four years ago. I read about you on this forum (so not that long ago) and after that realised that I had seen alot of your work already through many films. You give 3D a twist that make them somehow more⦠real. Those last images are truly a bit shocking and dirty! Art or not, these images are studymaterial to me. Keep exploring!! small_orange_diamond

You have taken the preview render and realtime-materials to the maxā¦
Did you use the shadowoptions for the previewrender and materials or did you polypaint some of the shadows ?
jantim
Rick itās apparent like v3 has really lit a fire in you!
These pieces are amazing , particularly the tactile quality your pulling out with the materials.
I am curious what is it about v3 thatās producing this evidently higher quality in the renders, shadows as well as a greater sense of depth?
Pixolator probably has to apologize to Ricksā family for infecting him with V3ā¦

Keep “em coming ,J.
