Playing with 3.0(some nude monsters)

Jmeyer, no it is a Bakesinski

Plakkie,Kracken, tell more frends. I remember how excited I was when I first discovered his work

Frenchy, yes Gustave Dore

Plakkie, It is mostly ZB it is actually four renders combined in PS with a little PS painting. Same skeketon model just applied many times not really reposed . I changed the material settings and fog settings in the different renders.

Thanks everyone

That last image is amazing. It sent a shiver down my spine and that rarely EVER happens. Its got a wonderfully claustrophobic feel. Especially the centre figures who seem to hold up the rest the image. Without them, it would collapse.

When I first looked at this piece, I thought they were wearing boller-hats, like the old style business men. Either way, it’s on my desktop now. MX

Thanks for the info Rick. One more question: are all the skeletons in one render, or did you make different renders for the skeletons in the front, mid, background?

Plakkie. All the skeletons were in one render, but several renders with different amounts of fog

Right! Now I can get my head around the technical stuff. Not around the artistry, but I have no problems with that.
Thanks! :+1:

Last year I exhibited at the Biennal of Saint-Léonard en France. Thirteen works by Beksinski from the Piotr Dmochowski collection were exhibited as an homage to one of the greatest painters of the twentieth century. As one of the main organisers fell sick (and died later on), I helped hanging the works. I still remember the thrill of holding those works in my own hands, being able to study every detail… If interested in details Monstermaker, send me a pm.

Your work is of high quality. Like all beta-testers here have excelled/outperformed themselves. You, and the others, are pioneers that brought changes to the artworld whose scope we cannot yet foresee. Thank you, and also thanks Ofer Alon and crew (I can’t believe one man can do all this coding…).
I’m waiting now for my copy of ZBrush3 to learn to master it. Because I have the impression that this could be about the same step, in digital terms, as when we went from egg-tempera to oils.

Aeneas,
Yes the beta testers have out done themselves and now the time is just about upon us to see what everyone else does with this wonderful app.
I can’t wait to see what 3.0 will bring to this forum
I must say I am in awe of Ofer and will be forever grateful for what he has given to us all.
Nothing very exciting about this image .I was playing around with fog and thought that it looked like a glow in the dark model kit. I could have used this when I was doing designs for haunted mansion

Neat effect! One day to go, and then it’ll be time for the pack to try and bridge the enormous gap between where we are now, and where you guys have pushed the new standard to. It’s going to be one heck of a ride.

Great stuf like always Rick! i really like shader there! i cant wait to put my hands on z3!

keep on doodlin’!

Vojislav

Last works is looks pretty good i like it.

I cant stand for Zbrush 3.

at my country time is 9.30 PM i think it will be release 09.00 AM

chovasie,It isn’t really the shader as much as the fog option. It is something that you could do in 2.0 but 3.0 is almost here. I just set the back fog color to a dark blue and the foreground fog to a light cyanand adjusted the depths til I liked the way it looked. Here is another quick one

Looks great, the other more jade like, this more “coming from deep waters”…great stuff. Good use of fog.

Those Beksinski studies give me the Willies! Whatever a Willy is  I’m never disappointed viewing your threads :+1:

Fog also works great to to bring things like a rainbow or fog from a photo into the foreground so it appears to emanate from the objects. One of my hopes was the ability to layer fog in 3 or some kind of volume material. Guess I’ll find out tomorrow.

I’ve only scratched the surface of 2 and 3 should give me many sleepless nights, I’m sure.

Pretty much my favorite thing EVER when I was a kid… Aurora kits ruled.

Maybe it was all that Testors Glue that made me what I am today…

Amazing what a single thing can due to completely alter ones life. Anyway great job man I cna’t wait for tuesday to come around!

Regards,

Will

Great effect:+1: - almost like a face pressed down on a photocopier or flat bed scanner.

Hmm nice shader…

I specially love the Jade looking of the upper one…
If you enable the ambaint occlusion with 0 diffuse you can have a similar rendering without using the fog.

But the fog add a lovely depth rendering…

Really nice!

Here you go jbakutis it is an old model of Frankenstein that I made which I was going to re pose with transpose but it kept crashing ,probably because the model was so poorly made, I quickly made a base like the Aurora kit for you to bring back nice memories. I got the Aurora Frankenstein kit when it first came out .Before they had the glow in the dark ones.

Blane, I know what a Willy is in England

Boozy, I thought the same thing about the photocopier

I know what everyone is going to be doing tomorrow

Glad to see I’m not the only old guy here.

There is one day from when I was 4 I remember clearly. That was the day my Father brought home our first TV. I remember waiting all day for him. He worked late and I probably drove my Mother crazy. When he hooked the TV up he turned it on and went to bed. I remember the apartment was tiny and I had to look under the ironing board to see the TV while my Mother ironed. The TV said that Frankenstein was going to be on late night (about 11PM back then). I remember begging my mother to let me stay up because I wanted to see a monster. She let me and I was hooked forever. If the show had a monster I had to see it.

You probably do know what we will be doing tomorrow

I love it! Great work Rick. Good to see your ZB Monster model being reused.
