I love the form, muted colors…apart from the elegant beauty of it, I’m intrigued by what it is (?)
The embryo of an Engineer’s ship? Many embryos in stages of development?
Amazing fiddling.

Mealea,
Whenever I feel like giving up on ZBrush (several times since getting ZB3) , it’s creations like yours, Michalis’ , et al, that bring me back to the
grind stone. Learning ZB has been painful…I know, “No pain, no gain”. But I hope it will click someday, and make perfect sense.
So please keep sharing your fiddlings. It keeps us going.
Still trying to catch up here…going through the whole 118 pages.
Got to page 47… I went to YouTube to see DaPlaneKhanDaPlane.…very cool!
While there, I happened to see RussellGWilliamsLikesDonuts…OMG!!!
Not part of this thread (?), but should be.
I’ll have to study it frame by frame to get the workflow.
Beautiful donuts!
ps- great soundtracks, too.
22hrs later…
found the Donut video….p59, #879.
Same page as the video, "Modeling the Mother of All Motherboards.

Almost 2yrs ago…time flies when you’re having fun. Did you fill up your 2tb hd yet?
Getting lots of great tips & tuts. Will take me another week to put it all together.
Then I’ll post it.
ps- what kind of filter won’t let me spell Kakatoo correctly!?
2007?! Wow! I didn’t realize it has been that long!
Yeah, it’s only been the last few months I’ve really determined to get a handle on ZBrush, specifically to use it
for the type of modeling done by you, Michalis, Gutalin, and bio-designer.
(*edited to remove off topic boring stuff, but emailed it to you)
There’s a relatively simple pattern to your basic workflow…I just need to focus on it, and practice, practice, practice.
I know I’ll never get to your level. I have a short attention span, am artistically challenged, and usually am happy with less detail.
You on the other hand have an innate technical ability, an amazing tenacity, and world-class
artistic sense. No bull!!!
I’m hoping if I hang around long enough, some of it will rub off on me.
BTW, my brother also uses ZBrush, and we’re getting together for a session tomorrow. I turned him on to your art. He loves it, too.
I’m up to p65, and will stop for now…lots to take in, figure out, and do.
But here are a few quotes that are most important for me to internalize:

I just tried all these methods. Some loops tricks on low poly base, UVs and applied some kind of displacement map. (one of the default low res, just testing the method). Similarly, this map can be used under noise maker. Similarly, you can mask by density, etc etc.
Mealea replies,
Mask by color, intensity, smoothness, and PeaksAndValleys are good, you can also use Group Masked one each of them and then do stuff like crank up Disp under Edgeloop… It goes on and on and on!

LVXIFER replying to Michalis,
This can be easily obtained within zbrush using the mask by intensity too … on a textured object and inflating or extruding what is unmasked
THIS may be just what I was looking for in the first place for quick detailing. But I still want to understand your basic workflow. I think I see it in this video,
It’sNotAFruit, at least in the first few steps.

Hey Mealea, now I’m really having fun, thanks to you.
The emptiness as form. The empty container as yet non-existent object.
As to create an object on a support or whose temporary ephemeral form involves the birth of a new entity?
Exm
Males in foundries. Cast in a reproduction. Agnes Martin painting or photographs Hatekeyama.
Silence as ciontinuidad of compas in a score, or zero as variable in an equation.
We always talk about stocks but also the absence provokes feelings.
Focusing on geometry. 3d printing gives us the possibility that the object is a solid entity empty elements but not feature I invite you to join me in this new world in which a support pede soda dissolved by water and create unimaginable concepts
@Megacal:
Thats awesome!
I’m sorry Im so late responding, life insane lately.
Its great to see you doing this stuff, I still want to see more too ok?
@Yhago:
YOU HAVE A PRINTER?!?!
Thats terrific, and great stuff! I want to see more of THAT too!
@CGMystic:
Thanks!!!
I did others of those as well, but I would have to dig around… they are in my heaps of stuff some place…
eeep!
MealeaYing:
Been trying some of your Zbrush materials.
Especially liking the one I tested in this render.

Nice! The program looks like a lot of fun.
hello Mealea, you’re still number one, a hug:D
Hi Mealea…
I installed the program and am messing around, but don’t find the Lego setting…
I am actually busy with a lego type project and this would just make life easier…
Hope you can assist?
Thanks Ziggy
Webhead:
It is!
PFC:
Aww!
Thank you!
I think you’re better though.
Ziggy:
The lego thingy is a feature in the renderer, its a separate program at the moment its here:
Once you have that you can drag and drop your voxel files onto the main window and they will appear, and begin rendering.
The lego feature is in the upper left, turn on Grid and Lego to make it look better.
The only thing it lacks is the lego logo on top of the little grabby dot thingys.
Its likely to be updated soon, so look back at the site for changes.
OH!
I forgot!
With no warning of any kind the folks who made topmod updated it, it now runs under Windows 8!
That is here:

Get TopMod2.5
Cheers!
Thanks Mealea…
Pity its only a render scenario I would have loved it as a editable mesh… but thanks for the help…
Ziggy
Ok you beat me to it, yer already there!
I have an idea how this could be done with micromesh…
Gimmy a minute…
I didnt say that twice, this website is going nuts.
