Now Im having fun

Mealea,

any chance of you doing more videos of your work like these inpost#207?
They’re helpful to see your workflow.

BTW, I started on page 1 of this epic thread, and am up to #14…only about 100 more to go!

I’m copy/pasting choice bits of your ideas, techniques, links you posted to other artists, free apps, etc
into an rtf document that I’ll post for anyone who is interested in following your awesome evolution.

This was insightful, and maybe explains the wide creative range of your art where you wrote:

“my actual jobs have me doing very random things ranging from somewhat standard retail to being underwater
antagonizing poisonous sponges and relocating interesting things that bite or sting and other stuff for long periods
at a time so that when I want to do things with the computer and post stuff I made I am usually a bit out of it.” =O

Have you ever tried Wings3D? David Brinnenhas some great tuts on it…similar to TopMod, but more versatile for regular modeling. TopMod is a great app, though.

I’m still experimenting with the AutoGroupsLoops thingy…will post anything worth seeing.

Can you give us a clue how you did this? “3rd-ish-SM” …alien circuit board? hieroglyphics? Whatever, it’s outstanding…they all are exceptional.
(sorry, had to make it a bit smaller to upload it… how did you get it fly full size?)

And this one…disturbing, but beautiful. Great shading, form, colors. What’s under the mask and suit…do I want to know? =O

MEALEA’ll always be number one

WOW! Thank you Mealea! You ARE #1…with us.

I’ll try it asap. But I will never have your creativity…you
are on a much higher plane.

And here is “One Last Thing” for you…actually 2 things…enjoy.

I understand the mourn part. I will always miss Bas Mazur. He was one of the best friends I think I have ever had and the closest I ever came to meeting him was on Skype. But he has become my leading inspiration. He was always willing to help others achieve their visions :bulb:small_orange_diamond:+1:
I seem to be spending most of my time relearning how to sketch and paint these days. Fun forum if you ever want to drop in and Fun program! http://www.taron.de/forum/index.php I am sure you will recognize some of the people that are hanging out there like Pilou, Taron and Knacki  Lurking is fine

hehe I think I will try that last tutorial you posted also :+1:

Hi Mealea,

how much ram does your machine have? I got an error when trying to use the RMesher
more than once.

I only have 6gb, and only had 2 gb available. I tried a ram optimizer to free ram, but
didn’t free much. So I re-booted and got up to ~4gb. I think I need more.

BTW, as I was doing the tutorial, it reminded me that this must be how they discovered chocolate
or how to cure olives…hit & miss, trial & error, having an inquisitive mind, wanting to explore all
the nooks and crannies. Just do it.

re: ram…may not be the issue. ZBrush is 32-bit and can only use 4gb per this article.

10min later.…just found this.

I’ll try aurick’s memory settings.

megacal, it may be that the density of your mesh is too high for the amount of memory required to remesh. You might try using Decimation Master to reduce the poly count then use ZRemesher.

hey, Mealea,
everything ok?

another tip:
in the beginning you can use the zremesherguide brush to force your loops in certain directions too.

grtz p

I just used the default plane, but it didn’t look anything like yours.

Maybe I didn’t make it a polymesh first?

I’ll keep at it…just need a block of time to go through it at least a few times to get the hang of it.

I bet you’d be good at Rubik’s Cube.

Do you have anymore creations to show us?

Have you ever had any printed on a large canvas? I don’t know what it would cost, but
they are great pieces of art, imho.

Hi Mealea,

Your thread is stunning as always.

The Decimation trick before using ZRemesher is something I saw in another thread a while back. It works well when you have a dense mesh that ZRemesher can’t handle.

DLangley, thanks…that finally sunk in!

I’m reading the Decimation Master PDF to see how to use it…hope to get to “the fun part” (step 10 of Mealeas’s tut) by
this pm.

Later…

had a problem with Decimation Master.
Moved postto “Other Questions” forum.

Fiddling about…
I need some sleep…

you need to see what its doing before you try to make your computer collapsed into its own black hole.

Mealea,
the plane I started with was the default, 263kPlane.ztl. Is it supposed to be that subdivided already? I even reinitialized ZBrush.

One thing that is annoying is whenever I use a primitive and change it, without even saving it, ZBrush remembers it.

I ordered a new 4gb ram stick for my laptop. Eventually will have 12 gb.

I imported a low res mesh from BLender to start, and will work up from there. I used Remesher on it but didn’t do much.
I’ll play with the polys in Blender, and try again.

“neeuQelbbuBehTdnAtmD” & “One” … :+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:

Thanks!

are you using this plane?

Thanks Mealea! I didn’t see that in my presets earlier.
Seems to be working now…at least I’m up to the fun part.

Beautiful!!!

Fiddling about…

I see what you did there.

Excellent.
