Now Im having fun

Mealea…HEY…Merry Christmas if it applies…if not Merry Whatever…:D…and I hope you have a GREAT New Year ahead of you.:+1:…Really looking forward to seeing where the adventure leads you to…:slight_smile:

I need some snow:D…This 50 degree weather here in Boston is getting old, and is just not getting it…:frowning:

Take Care Mealea:+1:

These are Spirit Dreamer’s doing, he reminded me of some things I adore: leafy and weedy sea dragons and sea horses… there’s more too, like sea slugs and others but since I’m trying to do too many thing’s at once I’m going to go off on these for a bit… then the sea slugs.

I’m starting to realize the amount of planning that goes into some of the things I see here, I dont plan anything, I just start doing something and stop when I cant continue and that is proving to be problematic, I want to make a complete picture and I keep getting stopped by either my own ignorance or some idiosyncrasy of the tools I’m using and fail to comprehend.

Planning is boring! :smiley: I never let a lack of planning get in my way. :lol: Cheers, David

hehehehehe…
This is the result of rum, music and ZBrush. Its not done obviously…

Toooooooooooot!!!

Let me be the first to say … very interesting! It says Shangri-la to me! :lol:

Cheers Mealea
David

hehehe!!! Shangri-la… I thought it looked more like some industrial hell…
And I added to it a little and discovered it looks better un-rendered so here is the new one:

I almost forgot, this is something I made because Tyrellcorp was asking some very interesting questions about the curve tube brush, this image is nothing but curve tubes.
Thank you Tyrellcorp!!! This is a neat thing to be able to make.

i like those dragons … nice

i tried some sculpting the other day after a few bottles of wine and that was quite funny… i will dig out the renders… hee hee…

thanks MealeaYing… !

Merry Christmas…

Hi Mealea,

I also find that with 2.5D only the best render is not as good as the default “preview render” which is what you called no render … it seems to have less artifacts most of the time but not always depending on the subject.

Anyhow you made a great image even better! Cheers, David

Hi Mealea!

I really like the last one, nice depth, Iwas staring at it and I got dizzy since the shapes in the back are a bit wavythey start to move, or maybe it’s the rum hehehe.

Peace

@Tyrellcorp:
Thanks! Those were a lot of fun, I’m now trying to figure out how to pose them before going into any more detail.
I cant wait to see the renders, getting pickled and Zbrushing is hilarious and sometimes better than not being pickled!

@David:
Thanks again, and your right it can look better, I have an idea about that however and I’m going to try it using
layers in ArtRage (I haven’t got photoshop) and if it works you will be one of the first to know… I just have to
get off my butt and try it out to see what happens.

@Crazy Horse:
GRIN!!!
You like rum too huh?
hehehe!
In the video I’m about to post you can see how those background ones got there, that in it self is odd to watch.

So I was recording this thing in case I discovered what Tyrellcorp was trying to find out, I did not figure it out
but I still have the video and its already uploaded so why not right?

Hi Mealea :slight_smile:
Great and highter level experiment…NICCCCEEEEE…:+1:small_orange_diamond:D:)

Above is a link to something that might be useful as you go further with this latest of yours…Just ignore the subject matter and study the… edge variation … lighting variation…shadow variation…shade variation and color variation in his compostion… of the Madonna of the Rocks painting…forground/middle ground/background…close up / middle / distant…:slight_smile:

Beautiful last one Mealea.
A merry xmas.

Hi Mealea,

There is something in this last work of yours that reminds me of the work of Meats Meier … do you know his work? He is amazing and you can find his work here, check out the whole thread if you have a moment. http://www.zbrushcentral.com/showthread.php?46757-Meats-Meier-Organical-Mechanical-Z3-Experiments&highlight=meats

Cheers! david :smiley:

Hi Mealea,

Good to have you back! You were kind enough some time ago to post your methodology for recording a tutorial video in Zbrush (all I recollect is “beating the snot” out of some button). What thread was it that you posted that? :lol:

Cheers,
David

@Spirit Dreamer:
Thankyou!!
That is a great image to look at, and like some of the others you have sent me I think its starting to sink in!

@Michalis:
Thank you very very much, I looked it up as I read it many many years ago when I was little and I like it even better now, I only wish I knew greek.

@ChalkMan:
Thank you… but Meats is in a WHOLE OTHER WORLD! I have no idea what the heck he’s doing or how… still thats a very nice thing to say!

Also this is the movie you meant I think:
http://www.zbrushcentral.com/showthread.php?161537-ZBrush-4R2-ZClassroom-Movies-Updated-to-include-17-Movies&p=913724&viewfull=1#post913724

And the post where I mention snot and the beating thereof:
http://www.zbrushcentral.com/showthread.php?161537-ZBrush-4R2-ZClassroom-Movies-Updated-to-include-17-Movies&p=913905&viewfull=1#post913905

I beat the snot out of the “Actual” button as a cheap and easy way to make a single frame repeat (usually after rendering), there is a better way I think though I haven’t used it yet:
Hit Pause in the Movie Pallet (if you are recording) and then hit “Snapshot” in the same pallet OR you can use Control-Shift-! to do the same thing, I just noticed that one recently and haven’t tried it…

Michalis made me do this, it was something I needed to learn how to do and now I know.
This started off as a 4.811 million polygon dynamesh and resulted in 840 polygon um… mesh that is insideout or something when I turn it into PM3D…
Its the first thing I have actually managed to completely retopo…
Thanks Michalis!

Now if I can continue this streak of persistent assault on silly problems I should be able to get this little beasty into Blenders game engine and figure out rigging and then keyboard controlled swimming… if I’m a lucky little snot…

Looking good Mealea! … I can’t wait to see it doing the backstroke! :lol: Cheers, David :smiley:

I cant wait to stop looking at it!
Retopo is a brutal process and this is an easy thing to do it to…

Retopo in ZBrush is’nt so bad as they whine around. If you know how it works it’s easy to use. Mostly I first paint the lines on the model and retopo after it. I have 3DCoat but for small and less complicated shapes I use ZBrush.
Keep going :+1:
