Now Im having fun

@michalis:

Not sure if you are referring to one of my images “red hair and hard edge tool” or one of MealeaYing’s.

Cheers, chalkman

Oh sorry, “red hair and hard edge tool” this was yours. Great work. Apologies. :o
In any case, this thread is wonderful.

@michalis:

No problem. I was tempted to post because of MealeaYing’s wonderfully adventurous and creative work. Yes this is a great thread! And thank you for the compliment, coming from someone with your talent is truly an honor! :smiley:

@ChalkMan:
Those things are fantastic! I need to do more stuff with fibers, I cant believe the stuff you are making its awesome! I am curious about the pink one, is that TopMod and did you add things like dodecahedrons or something to it and then smooth them out? Its wonderful and gross at the same time.

@Jmeyer:
That is a GIGANTIC amount of stuff! Thank you, this will keep me in reading for a LONG time!
Incendia I know but it seems to not like my video card or perhaps my computer cant cope, Im still reading about it however and maybe I will be able to get it working, I have seem a LOT of stuff from that program and I WANT IT!

@Michalis
Crazy can be good, its insane you have to watch out for, as an example:
“That guy down the street gets out of work on Friday and has these huge crazy parties with people going ape**** in the trees and racing lawn mowers off the roof.”
See? Crazy can be good, insane people do things like eat eyeballs and stuff.

On another note Michalis, I have been thinking a lot about something you said about the cost of 3D printing and while thinking about that I have been making things, looking at stuff you and other people make (Yoogy especially, he’s done it!).
Wouldn’t it be cool to be able to hold these things? A lot of them would make great toys for kids, but they are doomed to sit in a computer and only graphics geeks and a few other people here and there get to see them.
I think that is rather sad and maybe something could be done about it.
I dont know what yet but I’m working on it.

Cory is making some nice brushes, I like them a LOT (Thanks Cory!!!)
They are here:

And here:

Hi MealeaYing,

That pink thingy I did in Topmod … I can’t remember exactly how I made it.It was probably three years ago. It was rendered in C4D with Hyper-Nurbs. I have also been getting nice results bringing those models into Zbrush.

Here is something new in Zbrush with 2.5D brushes.

Cheers

This would have been a continuous texture but I forgot to instal Marcus’s wonderful plug-in when R2 came out…
I think I will be able to fix it but Im not sure…

I think we posted those at the same time!
That thing you just sent is awesome, I love 2.5D and the fiber stuff is terribly underused, very nice work!

Hey Mealea…:)…Just stopping in to say…Lovin your latest…:+1:

The one above on this page…the older one…Sea Urchin Cluster :smiley:
The last one…Nuclear Fission… :smiley:

@spiritdreamer:

Would you be referring to the post three slots up as urchin Cluster (good name) … that one is mine. Or were you referring to something older by MealeaYing? :smiley:

Chalkman…Oops…Sorry about that,…didn’t notice your name and avatar…Just reminded me of Sea Urchins when I saw it…Nice one :+1:…In fact, now that I look at it again, I can see those thicker arms that are sticking out of the cluster with a snakehook brush I think,… as being those of Star Fish, which really enjoy feasting on Sea Urchins…Would take just a little bit of detail on those arms to do the trick I think…:slight_smile:

You hit the nail on the head, snakehook it was. Thanks for the starfish idea. I will explore that when I have some spare time. Thanks spiritdreamer! :lol:

hehehehehehe!
This is fun, its getting confusing in here!

@Spirit Dreamer and ChalkMan:
GRIN!

Ok… This is something fun with fibers, like seriously fun:

  1. Select the 2.5D Deco brush.
  2. Turn on ZAdd.
  3. Turn on MRGB.
  4. Set it to things like conic and spray and stuff, change that often (but later).
  5. Set the texture to the Jellybean texture and change that later too.
  6. Set the materiel to Fiber1. (the most important part!)
  7. Make a mess on the canvas.
  8. Turn on the Poly Frame thingy and make more of a mess. (this is seriously cool, you can see the wireframe of the deco brush)
  9. Turn on EVERYTHING in the render pallet just in case you are like me and dont know what half of it means.
  10. Turn off Depth Que in the Render Pallet, it doesn't do anything. (hehehe sorry)
  11. Hit the Best button in the Render Pallet.
  12. If its ugly try different combinations.

Also if is ugly do this:

  • Select the Snake Hook brush.
  • Make it as big as possible.
  • Hold down the Alt Key.
  • In the center of the ugly mess draw in small tight circles for a moment
  • Hit Best in the Render Pallet.

It should look like a watery hole… give or take… (if fog is on it could look like that last thing I posted sort of)

@MealeaYing:

You are totally right it is confusing. I need to start my own thread “I am also having fun” :lol: Thanks again for all of your inspiring work and tips! I will continue to follow with interest.

Cheers,
David

I dont mind confusing, its funny and makes one think which is good in some cases, this is one of them.
Having your own thread is great and you are still more then welcome to post in here. Your stuff is
terrific and makes me look at different ways of doing things which is a wonderful thing so thank you!

Cheers!
Mealea

Thanks Mealea,

I will visit when I have something I think is interesting to share. There is so much to learn and playing is a great way to come up with new looks. :smiley:

There is so much inspiring work here at ZbrushCentral!

all the best,
David

Yes to all of that!!!
And here is an example of playing, I tried out mesh insert in the ways I use Zspheres, its amusing!

Wow Mealea…I really like these latest mesh insert experiments…Nice look and flow to them…:+1:
I was just looking at the Persistence of Memory painting by Salvadore Dali…I wonder what that last piece of yours would look like, if there were Dali type Melting Time Soft Watches at the ends of those tentacles that eminate from it’s core…Just a passing thought as I enjoy your latest…:D:+1:
