nice this punk

Looking awesome Nick! Hope you’ll have a great new year with lots of inspiring work done

Something new that I am working on to help drive a class on how to polypaint in ZBrush. In the class that I will be running will focus on setting up materials types and polypainting different surface types. We will be looking at painting skin, eye/glass, leather, grass, dirt, flowers, stone, wood and worn metal.

The automasking/cavity mask brush feature was used heavily throughout this piece. Hope you all enjoy!

Nice sculpt…

Thanks! And thanks to Santis and Philuxius for the kind words as well!

Nice inspiration and excellent work!

Great work! I love your cartoon style.

How do I find out more about the class?

incredible work

thanks!

Nate, this is a class that will be running at the University of Central Florida’s FIEA (Florida Interactive Entertainment Academy). We currently have 16 art students enrolled in the program, enrollment is closed for this semester, but if anyone is interested in attending the school you can visit their web site (listed in my signature) for more information.

I am kicking around the idea of capturing the content of the class in video format and posting them here on ZBC. (If people are interested.)

Peace-NickZ.

P.S. Here are some close ups of this piece.

I really like the way that looks Nick. It’s very clean and fun and has a great illustrative quality (makes me wonder what it would look like as a posterized cartoon render). I would love to see a few snippets of the workflow.

Definitely interested in the video format -
Advise when and where

thanks,
Nate

nickz, I’d also be very interested in the video for texturing.

I will see if I can get some time this weekend to make the polypaint videos. In the mean time…here is a new dynamesh sketch that I worked on…I guess this was about 2 hours worth of time??? Not sure the exact time…but who’s counting anyway!

@kaisasose -Thank you sir! :slight_smile:

I posted quite a few video’s on the polypainting series on the Facebook “LunchCrunch” page…I hope they don’t mind me posting these in that area…but that is what I have been crunching on for quite some time now!

ZBrush artist, I have created quite a few videos that are related specifically to polypainting in ZBrush. I still have a few more video’s to make to wrap up the series, but I thought I would just post up what I have now instead of just waiting.

I plan on releasing more videos on this series in the future.

Topics I plan on including are:

  1. Painting leather with the use of Ryan Kingslien’s stitch brushes.
  2. Painting Wood with Spotlight and Photoshop.
  3. How to create insertmesh brushes with polypaint already applied.
  4. How to paint a rock wall.
  5. Adjusting Best Possible Render (BPR) settings.

I hope you all enjoy the videos and I hope they help someone in their quest to be better artist/Zbrush artist!

Peace-NickZ.
