Great videos, thanks for making and sharing them !
Big fan of your work over the years. Just bought the Tutorial materials, massive file. Worth way more than what you are charging. Really very generous of you. Can’t wait to watch the movies.
Thnx again

This is awesome. Thank you very much for sharing these videos. I’m really enjoying watching these vids and learning a lot. I’m a big fan of everything you do. Keep up the great work.
Ruso, Thank you sir for the kind words! Puts a smile on my face to know that the work is appreciated!
Gotta find some time to watch these
Thank you for another great contribution to the community!
Hey, Nick.
There is probably an even easier way to pick color samples from an image than using spotlight. You can load the image with the color swatches using texture/image plane/load image. That way you have your color swatches at any time on the canvas where you can pick colors from. When you don’t need the swatches anymore you just clic CTRL+N to clear the canvas.
Anyway, just finished watching all the videos and all I can say is that this is an absolutely MUST see for anyone, from the newbie trying to learn Zbrush to medium and advanced users. Each video is full of awesome tips that can be helpful for even the most advanced user but explained so well that newbies can surely benefit. Thanks a lot for sharing this with all of us.
Excellent work indeed, thank you so much Nick!!
Thanks for the videos. Love your work!
In the skull texturing video, I noticed that you wanted to keep the spotlight reference up to select base colors while painting on the model. You can paint color while Spotlight is open by turning off Spotlight Projection (Brush > Samples > Spotlight Projection). I hope this helps. It is the least that I can do for all the knowledge you’ve shared with me and others.
I did have a question: Is there a benefit when you drag from the Color Palette instead of using the “C” hotkey to sample a color?
I just found your tutorial movies on this thread.
Thanks so much for sharing this info!
Absolutely amazing!!!
Thanks so much for these videos and, in general, for sharing your skills-knowledge.
Great stuff and thanks. Im often out of Z for long periods and need reminders and refreshers these are super handy.
Santis-Thank you sir!
Ruso - After Your post I thought about it…you could just load a texture and have it visible in the texture slot and then color pick from that.
Akumakua - Thanks for the kind words.
Gumby-guy-Very cool… I didn’t know that you could turn off the projection paint for spotlight in the brush…Awesome!!
And believe it or not I didn’t know that you could just hold C hotkey to pick colors anywhere from the canvas. Now that you gave me that little gem I can just use spotlight and load my image/swatches to full color and then turn the opacity to full visibility and then hold down the C key and hover my stylus over the area I want to pick colors from. Very cool!
Protonium - Not a problem. Thanks for the kind words!
Dman3d - Glad this could help!
A goldmine!!
Thanks, Nick Z
After watching the ZBrush INDUSTRY SPOTLIGHT with David Bentley

I thought I would explore adding some hardsurface shapes to one of my old alien project.
Once you get the hang of the panel loops tools they really are a lot of fun.
I’m also using mesh insert brushes that I created awhile back as well along with one of Michael Dunnam’s tech brushes. (His rock brush set is amazing if you haven’t tried them out yet.)
Thanks Pixologic for the amazing tools.
very cool Nick
Looking great! I want to see what you do with this one!
all the best, David
