Love this thread!
Need to finish watching all the videos.
Thank you for taking the time to share
all this info. So amazingly useful.
thanks so much for these videos man.
I’m glad you are all enjoying the videos! Very cool, and thank you for the kind comments! Much appreciated.
Well I think I am ready to start adding videos for the real creation series that I will be going over, the earlier videos were just a primer to get you ready for this next series of videos.
The first video up is the Photoshop time-lapse that I created to make the concept for this project.

looking great!
any reason why his ankle bones are backward?
His bulk in the front and side shots don’t match very well. Also your front ortho is going to cause you trouble if you’re trying to follow it exactly since it doesn’t line up with the side ortho. Basically, both shots have the arms from the side with a slight forearm twist. I’ve seen your work before so I know you can sculpt it anyway and this is probably just a study…eh, my 2cents.
Beta, his ankles are broke, I didn’t even realize it, I guess because I am using this stuff as a rough guide and then fixing them in the scuplt. I guess this is fairly typical for me to encounter, a concept that is rather rough and things have to be fixed or improved upon in 3D over the duration of the sculpt. The sculpt doesn’t match 100 percent, but I think I have made improvements here and there.
Thanks for the artistic eye! Much appreciated!
Wow man that’s wicked cool! Thanks for sharing this!
BTW, many I ask what software you are using for screen capture?
Wow, you you imagine the inspiration I got from watching that whole process. I am amped. Thank you.
Amazing works. Thank you for sharing your process.
Toxic Blue Print Roughing In ZBrush Part 01
In this video we will look at how I set up imagePlanes (This video was created with ZBrush 4R3, 4R4 has new camera imagePlanes that work much better. There are ZClassroom video’s on how to set up with the new methods.)
We will be taking my human mesh that is part of Zbrush (Lightbox>Tool>Nickz_humanMaleAverage.ZTL) and we will fit it to our concept drawings. We will be jumping back and forth between ZBrush and Maya, we will take a look at a resurfacing method that I use in Maya. I will also be using a .mel script called xyshrinkwrap.mel.

Toxic Blue Print Roughing In ZBrush Part 2
In this video we will continue to sculpt out the features of the body of our character to a rough stage. We will talk about polygroups, saving iterations so you can steal work from previous sessions. The moveBrush, ClayTubes, and DamStandard brushes are used the most through this session.

Wow, amazing work as always. Your drawing and your sculpts are an interminable source of inspiration and just wanted to thank you for sharing those video-tutorials with us. I have been following all your work since I first saw your manimal sculpting session and I have learned a lot since watching your tutorials.
Love the way you sketch the Toxic character sheet almost like painting or sculpting in photoshop to quickly define volumes and shapes and then how you ink it. You are such an amazing artist, Nick!
Thanks a lot and keep up the good work! Eagerly waiting for more.
Nice work man. !m looking forward to the final. Love the videos. BTW thanks soo much for the awesome zb base man.
Thanks ya’ll. Here is a new one.
Toxic Blue Print Roughing In ZBrush Part 3
In this video we will finish up the finer details of the sculpt for the body.
We will look at some different masking techniques and using transpose tools with masking. We will also look at how we can use a gradient to mask an area of our model.
We will also talk about where we should focus our attention when sculpting on our model.
