its great!
but you must upload your model to a server and have no control about your stuff
That is great! Thanks for sharing your link. It should be a great improvement to allow artists directly showcase their work to employers, hobbyists and the such… and your work is pretty sweet too
nice find man, been looking for something similar
http://studio.verold.com/ is also another good site
Great find.
This is great, thanks for the find man! Could be a really fun way to display a full portfolio if you could somehow mix this with a lightbox on a website.
very nice
NEAT!!!
It works perfectly in Chrome, but in Aurora it says my graphics card is not supported, but that is not surprising, its beta software and I expect that if it works in Chrome it WILL work in Aurora at some point.
I think the people who are supposedly making q-remesher are doing something like this but I haven’t bothered trying it as their website is sort of aggravating.
Anyhow, nice work!
Cheers!

Would it not be better if the uploader could lock the camera to some extent for better presentation of the model.
really cool now display our models in 3d here ZBC !!
yup it works!
holy… now you have a whole new way to post your work on the forums!
Oh that is just sweet! Nice tool for presentation for sure!
-Also noticed that if you use mouse click wheel over it, it will also zoom in and out of the model while in rotation while you view it…
This should become a standered thing for showing of models… I just made account and btw nice piece.
Here is another method using studio.verold.com

Thanks for showing this method off Nick! Really amazing, kind of feels like a game changer to me. No plugins necessary. Although it hurts me to the core that its not functioning on Safari yet. Personally I’m a Firefox user, but I do have a new iPad that is just screaming for these features to be functional on Safari!
Which leads me back to the fact that I would instantly purchase iOS apps put out by Pixologic…
Imagine being able to export interactive turntables like this, natively from ZBrush. Saving out a file that you can drag and drop onto your iPad via iTunes or import from a Dropbox link.
That way you dont have to rely on an internet connection, the model is never being sent or uploaded to someone elses servers, and Decimating down to 1% would be a thing of the past.
Id even be happy with exactly what’s currently available in Pixologic’s Turntable Gallery. Just formatted for iOS.
But if I had it my way I’d want a turntable that I can spin with my fingers, pinch zoom, tap to re-center, all on my portable high resolution digital portfolio.
Pixo if you read this…please make us some apps!
Thanks again Nick and I hope my rant doesn’t derail your thread in anyway. I can instantly see how powerful this is in its current state and cant wait for some improvements. Just kind of thinking out loud here.
No need to worry about posting this up. I love to think about the possibilities myself. I guess that is what we do as artist, we push for the best, if it doesn’t exist then we try to push to build it.
So thanks for sharing your thought!
Wow, that is just awesome!
Yep , this method is the beginning of the future in 3d presentation. REALTIME !
Cool stuff, thanks for letting us know!
Thanks guys, appreciate the kudos!!
We can’t render 3D on mobile (yet), but are considering offering a fallback option like an interactive turntable. For now, focus is getting web 3D to be amazing (including in Safari for Windows/Mac). We’ve got zbrush models with 600K+ polygons running nicely in the browser. Models like Nick’s make us look really good
Lots more to do, so I’ll get back to it. But just wanted to chime in and let you know we’re here and listening; if there are features you want, we’ll do our best to accomodate.
And if you haven’t yet, please try us out,

Ross, it’s awesome you guys have your ears and eyes open to new possibilities and requests!
Best of luck to your Mobile endeavours, as I feel like this has HUGE potential for artists on the go. As well as Clients!
The iPad has entirely changed the way I look at job interviews and how I organize my digital portfolio. I’m sure I’m not alone.
Its actually quite a powerhouse, and I know game developers like Epic have been really impressed with what’s under the hood.
And the display is hard to beat!
I realize each device and browser has its own set of limitations. It’s really awesome you guys are trying to get it running smoothly on everything you can though! The “fallback” option sounds like it has some potential, and I would personally love to see what kind of interactive turntables you guys can come up with.
BTW I was floored with what’s already available to view in your gallery and hope to add something soon myself!
Nick, thanks for being open for discussion. I’m a firm believer that Art challenges technology, and in turn technology pushes art!
I discovered that if you wish to change your background color in Verold Studio you can change your fog color in the scene to a darker color and pump up the fog value.
It would be nice if you could set the background color to what ever you wish and choose if you want a gradient between the floor and the sky color. Gradient fall off or smoothness would be nice. (You can assign a new material to the floor so you can choose color that way)
I would also be nice if you could soften your shadows, I would also like to turn shadows off per light. I’m not a huge fan of two cast shadows, it’s cool that it is in there, I would just like to turn it on and off at will.
I also noticed that if you have multiple pieces to your model that you can click on part of your model and a selection list comes up, this is how you can change materials per object.
If you want to add a new material you will need to add it with the menu that is off to the right. (Click on assets and then click the Add Material button.) Adding and assigning materials to objects seems a bit confusing right now.
I would also like to update the thumbnail that is auto generated for my project. I have updated my first project and the thumbnail doesn’t reflect the latest changes. My newest project that I have created isn’t showing a thumbnail at all, and I am not sure how to get one.
One last thing about thumbnails, I am embedding the 3D into my blog and here on ZBC, so if I change the 3D window from the default embed settings to 600 px X 800 px then the thumbnail picture gets stretched out. I would like to have more control over the size or aspect ratio that forms the thumbnail picture.
For the scene I would like to save a default camera for viewing start up. An auto spin option would be really nice as well.
A loading progress bar would be good for the embedded window as well.
I hope this doesn’t come off negative (last thing I want) I really think this is an AMAZING tool, I just want to help make it better!
Thank you so much Ross for bringing the artistic community such an amazing and powerful way for us to showcase our work!
Peace-NickZ
