Like always, your works are amazing…
Hope to sculpt like you one day…
May we have a timelapse tutorial from this guy???

Great Job man!!!

This is just great! Top row stuff here, last image is fantastic

Sad but true, I haven’t had much time to create in ZBrush in a long time. We’ll I was able to get some time today to mess around with the new ZBrush 4.0.

I’m really digging the new features.

skullDesign_Render_hori_01.jpg

For this desktop images that I created I used the new shadowbox tool (Really innovative tool!) and the subtool duplicate tool. I also used the new BPR rending options, but I took the image into Photoshop and then did some levels separations and threshold adjustments.

Just wanted to say thanks to the Pixologic crew for their hard work.Your innovations never fail to impress!

Peace, NickZ.

P.S. I made this all on my portable Wacom Cintiq (Well sort of) My new favorite toy, a Motion Computing LE 1600. For those of you who are looking for a cheap tablet (250 - 300 dollar range on ebay) you might want to check one out.

If you want some more information on this then visit this thread:

DynaMesh is SOOOO FUNNNN!!! Z has really made something special…again!!

Nice work man!

Great to see you are joining in on the fun too  :+1:

Thanks guys! Yeah this is a lot of fun! Dynamesh is a lot of fun. Still trying to learn all the rules. I am also learning how to use the insertMesh brushes and replace them with custom geo. So I made a sucker for the arms and teeth for the mouth and then created my own insert brushes for them . Really cool stuff that Z has made!

Excellent, thanks man. Sooo many bright and shiney things in R2 that I hadn’t even thought of adding my own inserts yet. Now my head is really going to explode!!!

Yeah, it really opens up a lot of new possibilities, especially when using dynamesh.

To make your own brush just take one of the existing insert brushes and clone it. Then have your custom insert mesh ready to go (make sure the top of your model is facing down the Z axis on the Zbrush grid, object placement from the side view will matter as well to control how the mesh is inserted into your main model.)

Then open your brush settings and then open the Modifiers section, click on the preview of the mesh and then you will be able to swap it out with your own custom mesh. Then save your brush with a new name.

Thanks Nick!

I agree, Dynamesh is a really cool addition. :+1:small_orange_diamond:+1: Pixologic.

Hey Nick, what are your shadow settings in the BPR for your last render. Im having an issue getting the same results as Z4 based on my last settings. thanks.

Threetails,

I believe I was actually using my start up project for the render settings.

You can DOWNLOAD IT FOR FREE HERE.

I was actually then using the skinShade4 material. For the wax portion, make sure that you have the wax modifier turned on in the shader and enabled in the best possible render settings. There is a strength slider for the wax effect, I think I put the slider at around 90%.

Then if you have your grid turned on ZBRush will render the floor shadow for you. Pretty cool.

Hope this helps you out!

NickZ.

Nice work man! :+1: and thanks for sharing startup proj, its cool)

I found this really cool way to display your 3D models directly in your web browser. (P3D.in)

For my model, I took my high resolution Zbrush sculpt and used decimation master to get the poly count down to 30,00 tris. I used the preserve UV’s option to keep my UV’s so I could still use my texture on the model.

In Maya I set up a light rig and baked all the lighting down to a single texture. Then I uploaded to the model and the texture and then set the shader model in the 3D browser to be 100% ambient lit.

You can view your 3D model directly in your web browser on their site:

Or you can embed the results on your own website/blog:

I’m curious if this is possible to embed directly into a ZBrush Central Post or not. Could be a really cool way of displaying your models.

Here is the code:

<iframe src=“http://p3d.in/e/KcTWU/shadeless+spin” frameborder=“0” allowtransparency=“true” width=“100%” height=“600px”></iframe>

Cool! It works and I’m on a mac using Safari. I’m also using a magic trackpad and it recognizes finger gestures for zoom in and out.

Neat model, btw.

Awesome man, thanks for sharing this info! I am in the process of putting together my portfolio and this will come in very handy

if anybody is interested, here is the first model I uploaded:

<iframe src=“http://p3d.in/e/5N16U” frameborder=“0” allowtransparency=“true” width=“100%” height=“400px”></iframe>

Cheers,
Frederik

This is too cool! It appears that you can apply a color map, a specular map and a normal map to your models as well.

YES! i fell in love with it right away
I am sure you already saw it but in the bottom left of the preview screen the user can also chose to have auto-spin on the model and even toggle different display modes like wireframe or wireframe overlay !
