A work a day keeps the … away! Here is my latest. Cheers, David
LOL David…Spirit Dreamer put me up to it…:D…Beware of seeds planted in your head…they may germinate, grow like weeds, and sprout roots in unexpected places…
Morphing from abstract to representational instead of morphing from representational to abstract…A new…ism is born…Yes:D
This last one is moving on it’s own…Great flow and rythm…looks like it’s getting ready to walk…Kind of like the spaceships in the new version of War of the Worlds …:)
The bike wheel one would make a really nice fine art print…Great works…small_orange_diamond:)
Glenn
Hi Glenn,
You did the sowing and I am doing the reaping! Thanks so much! I think I will probably do a combination of both abstract and representational work for now.
I intend to get some nice archival prints made of this new work (the muted color and distressed look) after the Holidays. I think It would look good on a matte paper with not too much tooth!
All the best,
David

Morphing from abstract to representational instead of morphing from representational to abstract…A new…ism is born…Yes
That’s why I like this guy (SD) LOL
Hey SD, I always thought that abstract to representation was all that matters. This always happening in the history of art. The opposite? Some critics invested it, I think. Not the artists. Cheers.
Let’s imagine an atelier of photography, a model is sitting in an empty space. One will frame it with lot of space around, the other just a closeup. etc. This is what I call abstract. Here it comes, simple as is. A line that divides a piece of paper in two parts. What this has to do with “reality”? Yes, it’s a projection blah blah…
Great stuff here. I love all these compositions. Though I’m not a fun of 2.5 d. I really don’t know why. But who cares. Beautiful!
Hi Michalis, Thanks for having a look! I am getting so much mileage from your teracotta material! Nice to know that you and SpiritDreamer are lurking in the background.
I don’t usually put up two images up so close together time wise but I have something that is a bit different from what I have been doing and wanted to see what everyone thinks. Cheers, David
Example…A Representational thought… figure/landscape coverted to cubism= Abstraction…opposite…An Abstract thought…say for an example a Jackson Pollack abstraction converted to a Representational figure/landscape=something new,…A New type of and as yet untitled…ism in art.
The mind Always wants to create something reprentational from something abstract…Faces in clouds/stains on walls ect…Abstract thought and reasoning…
Glenn
Hey, real nice this one could work as a Bauhaus poster:-)
it is a pleasure to come and visit your thread again and again… the bicycle piece was a great one, many pieces i like, but the last one, wow, that talked to me right from the small thumbnail. the repition of curves rhythm is beautiful and gives energy. and, again, the shapes and their arrangement is great composition, and very suggestive. i love it.
Hi Kokoro … it’s my pleasure to have you visit again and again. Thanks for your kind words, I agree that the thumbnail for this one really projected differently from most of my other pieces. I am pleased with the way this turned out!
all the best, David
Another piece … it seems as though I may be moving into another phase, a little less chaotic, cleaner looking. I like it so far. And you?
Hi David
I like this new direction…Angular……Wonder what would happen if you offset the angular with a twisted/warped shape…Say like that bike wheel shape you did on the previous page in here…Maybe even attach it to that center sprocket like cylinder shape coming out of that last piece you posted…Warped unballanced wheel added to a ballanced upright abstract… …Just a thought that entered my mind after seeing your last piece, and then refreshing my memory a little by looking at some of the works of Marcel Duchamp …which for some reason popped into my mind after seeing your latest…I remember you mentioning his name awhile back…Seed germination…must have taken root:D
Anyway…keep going…Can’t wait to see where the journy leads you to next…small_orange_diamond:)
Glenn
Hi Glenn,
Thanks for the advice … Duchamp is not bad to emulate, I have also always been fascinated by Steampunk stuff, i need to do some research and perhaps give that a look as well!
All the best for the Holidays! Cheers, David
That thing is…
scintillating…
Its so satisfying to look at its incredible.
I haven’t the faintest idea how you re doing these things but do not stop ok?
Also, Thank you for the post of Bianca and her rather fuzzy and wonderfully light scattering ears! Happy Christmas and all that sort of thing! (Give her loads of tummy rubbing from me ok? (Also give Elisa a huge hug from the sweltering part of the world!))
GRIN!
Hi Mealea,
Thanks for the compliments … I hope I can keep moving on to do better work!
Thanks so much for all the good thoughts. Bianca is a Winter dog (Alaskan Husky) the colder the better, especially if it’s snowing! Elisa on the other hand having lived in Buenos Aires for many years is not as enthusiastic about New York Winters.
What part of the World are you sweltering from?
Have a wonderful Holiday and a Very Healthy and Joyous New Year! Cheers, David
Something new for the Holidays … don’t ask me what it has to do with the Holidays. It does have a somewhat musical feel to me.
Hello Chalkman,
I see that also you a re a big lover of 2.5 pixol…Good works and experiments.
Do not stop to work!
Thanks very much Francesco! I am inspired by your work! Cheers, David
You’re right! for me it seems also it’s going to sound in any momment, great.
