? LOL
this material doesn’t suppose to work well under best renderer.
In fact I may edit it. It uses a matcap node, it shouldn’t. Matcaps don’t work well with BPR and even with lightcaps. They don’t cast shadows well.
Yet another in this journey of mine … similar in feel to my last image, not sure yet where it is going!
Happy Holidays and a Healthy and Joyous New Year to all! May Santa bring us a Pixolgic present soon!
Cheers, David Elisa and Bianca!
A merry christmas to biance from heracles

Cheers, Michalis

Hi Glenn,
Santa in the off season … not!
I saw the original Rembrandt at the Hermitage! Very fine copy.
Thanks for the Holiday wishes!
All the best,
David
i really like the first one, as it gets stronger. it has very suggestive shapes, i can see “a story and emotion”, and still is purely abstract, pieces and colors and shapes work great together. its a superb composition … the second does not work for me, it has too military feel for me, but that is just me, and my associations,.
Hi Kokoro,
I can see your viewpoint totally … the second could be branches or spears! The first one is certainly more complex and more emotional I think. I am thrilled that you see it as a narrative work as it is intended to be! Thank you so much for your feedback!
All the best for the Holidays and for a Healthy and Joyous New Year! David
…exploration! Bravo!
Thank you so much Frenchy!
Very nice coming from the King Of Exploration!
Cheers, David
Here is another new piece. I am enjoying the direction in which I am moving … for now! Hope you are as well!
Hi David
Really enjoying these last few.…I like the encrusted look and feeling…gives a sense of times passage with motion…
Maybe a gyro or gyroscope like I used to play with as a kid…might be nice tilted on a diagonal with the ballancing pointed tip that it spins around on… in the bottom left of the composition…fallen over on it’s side after it’s spin through time, and now encrusted…or maybe even one of those old watch gears that have disapeared now that digital has arrived…When I was a kid, we used to get those gears from old watches and spin them like tops…Ancient memory there LOL
Anyway, I just thought that it might be an interesting concept to have time catching up with time as a once spinning object that has run out of energy and motion and is now laying on it’s side encrusted,…and now running out of time as it metaphors back into it’s original elemental state…Just a passing thought on my part that might be useful to you somewhere along the line…Who knows, and Time wil tell the story…
Keep up the great works…Luvin all of them…
Glenn
Hi Glenn, I really think you are on to something there with passage of time and obsolete objects, decay, weathering and so on. How about tie clips, cufflinks, 35mm film canisters, letters … talk about ancient. I am going to see how this theme can fit into my style and skill set. Glad you enjoyed the recent work. Cheers, David
I went to the “garage” for some spare parts to create an image that shows the passing of time as was suggested to me. I am just not sure … is it too studied, out of sync with my other work (not bad if it works) it is certainly more representational than my other works. What do you folks think? Cheers, David
This latest crop is excellent.
I’m also primarily interested in the 2.5D possibilities and have enjoyed looking at your experiments.
This latest crop really looks like artwork, rather than happy accidents from fun experimental button pushing sessions. I hope that doesn’t sound like I’m dissing the older stuff. I just think you’re really starting to pull something out from all this. I love the encrusted muted aged tones. The bicycle one really caught my attention, but I love all the completely abstract ones as well.
No dissing taken. I am glad that you have enjoyed the most recent work, they are also my favorites. It feels as though I am going in an interesting direction! Thanks so much for the comments! Cheers, David
