The simpler the better.
I mean, it may not be simple, but this monochromatic theme is wonderful.
Maybe you should avoid this horizon-like table-like background. Just an almost white background? With casted shadows? Always noisy of course.

the new direction is very interesting. i like inparticular #1009. the material on the left hand side on the cherries appears almost like paint on canvas. love this effect.
