New Work.

diggin the past few especially #254 kinda drift woody barnacle look ! :+1: i was intrigue with the 2.5d tools when i first starting using ZB over ten years ago may have too revisit them ! have you ever tried the render > adjustment ( contrast- brightness - gamma ) settings on these ?

Hi Gary, Are they dark on your monitor, are you on a PC or Mac. In almost all of these there is a lot of post in photoshop. I would give 2.5D a shot again. I have been asked to do a little tutorial on my process (for what it is) so I will try and figure how to do it and as soon as I have time I will get it done.

It is interesting and very cool that one tool can have so many different looks depending on the type of stroke that is used to put it on the canvas!

Cheers, David

no not dark at all just never tried them on 2.5d stuff wonder what kind of depth could be achieved like with some fog settings and contrast - i will have too do some testing
anywho looks like fun keep on !:+1:

Back to the Junk Yard … I hope this does not get stale, I really like to go back and reuse the same elements sometime. Let me know if it is getting boring!

Cheers, David

Weirdly inspiring

keep it up.

Cheers Ivo … glad they are both inspiring and weird! I love your beasts and Quasi Modo!

All the best, David

I really like the organic living feel to this one , need more in this vein of endeavor , in my humble opinion , this is kind of stuff I would hang on my walls…

Hi Deke,

Yes I feel this one has a nice use of negative space and there seems to be a sense of depth as things seem to peek out from behind the driftwood like stuff.

I am actually going to have some test prints made in a week or so (not 3D prints) archival pigments on 100% rag paper. I will put one aside for you. I have a really big printer of my own but I am having some technical problems at the moment.

Thanks again for your encouragement and support!

Cheers, David

Here is another image in yet another style … kind of. Love to get your feedback on this one! Cheer, David

IMHO… By far, your best one yet! :+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:

Cheers Francesco … glad you like this piece! It means a lot coming from you!

All the best, David

love the wild energy in that one

Hey Real Simple “Frog in a Blender”…Its actually very cool liquid metal in the shape of water down the drain of the universe…

Oh my god you have been busy!
I go out into the middle of internetless Atlantic and back for a couple of weeks and you go nuts!
This is fantastic stuff!
If I knew what I was talking about I would go on at length about it but I dont so all I have to say is THANKS! I’m learning new ways of looking at pictures in general and 2.5D is even more impressive now.

Someone asked about tutorials, you know about the movie menu right? (If I can make a movie ANYONE can)

Cheers!
Mealea

Hi David

They just keep getting better…Not much else to say,…except, really looking forward to the next one…:D:+1:

http://search.yahoo.com/search?fr=mcafee&p=gillee+prints

I’ve had some pretty good results having digital stuff of mine printed using the method in the link posted above…Can be printed on real canvas or rag paper…matt finish, /hight gloss, / semi gloss ect…Some of mine were made to look like oil paintings but done digitally by me, with thick brushstrokes…the technique posted above made them look like the real deal when printed on canvas with a semi gloss finish…Amazing new technology and printing process. They send you color proofs ahead so you can ok the results before you give the ok to proceed with the printing job which makes it really nice and lets you make corrections if so desired…
I worked on a big german made 6 color printing press here in Boston for a few years… along time ago…Hard to match those colors perfectly when mixing the inks up ahead of time… interesting and a challenge sometimes to say the least:D,…especally when you get into the blue values and ranges…but your works and the colors that you use would show up Great and print really nice…for sure…
Anyway, just thought I would mention that printing process above, just in case you weren’t familar with it.
Keep on Truckin David…:+1:small_orange_diamond:)
Glenn

Hi Glenn,

Thanks for that info. I have been printing my own archival prints for years now. Photographs and illustrations. The printer I am struggling with at the moment is a 10 color archival printer by canon and can print 17" wide by however long (roll paper) as a backup I have a great printer right here in Brooklyn that I use. I only use matte surface, usually Hahnemuehle, Innova or Arches.

I will let you know how I make out!

Cheers,
David

Hi Deke, You know me so well … you hit the nails on the head!

All the best,

David
