New Work.

I imported a OBJ file, a simple model of a palm tree (not mine, I found it on an old drive. From where it came I do not know) I wanted to use just one tool and create something interesting by just changing materials and using different strokes for different looks and shapes (the rotate dot /shape works very well for that) I have attempted to make it look like watercolor or perhaps a colored etching … gotta love 2.5D!

I do anyway! Cheers, David

One more sketch.

Still exploring … something a bit more delicate! 2.5D again.

One more new work … hope you enjoy this one!

The last two are very organic looking…pesonally I favor the one with the seaweed and ribbons, it floats very nicely…

Here is another new piece … something a bit different!

More new work … hope you like it!

Hi David

Hey…You are really getting some nice effects going on in these latest creations of yours.:+1:…Luv the sense of motion in the last ones on the previous page in here…The transparent drops and other volumed and volumeless shapes really do the trick nicely…makes for a nice contrast between fluid and solid form…Great combo…me thinks. :D:+1:small_orange_diamond:)

Anyway…http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QgAtvJNIdrU
Glenn

Hi Glenn, I am indeed keeping on trucking! Am I mistaken or was that term also from the work of R. Crumb perhaps his character Mr. Natural? Glad you are liking this new stuff, I like using image plains for backgrounds to my work!

Your boxers are looking awesome … what’s next? how about wrestling? I can just see those chairs flying.

Cheers, David

One more new one in a series using image plains. Let me know what you think of this direction.

Cheers, David

Tottally dodecafonic! mix of brass, strings & winds…

I have been watching your work and it is…different, glad to see.

keep it on!

Ahaaa … now I can hear it clearly, toes are tapping!

Hi Charley, different is good! I try and keep it that way. Cheers, David

Well… :+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:
A modern Victor Hugo… though he was already modern to me.
Print it and drop some real coffee on it.
Some others may not understand what I’m saying so here:
http://bittleston.com/artists/victor_hugo/

I can do that … it beats the hours I spend in photoshop!

Delacroix was right … Hugo may have missed his calling, his work is wonderful!

Thanks for the tip Michalis! I’m off to get the coffee pot.

I see predator and prey, the flight of the metallic hunters after the apocalypse has forever changed the planet…( wonderful symbolism )
some others are Dali’esque, which is a compliment in itself…Deke aka Blue

Hi Deke,

Sounds more interesting than I had envisioned … i Like metallic hunters!

These images are like Thematic Apperception Tests, LOL. Glad you like them I can see Dali as well. What a day Dali and Victor Hugo (see Michalis’s post) … I am indeed honored. Cheers, David

Slight change of pace on this one. Cheers, David

JumbleOfBoxes.jpg

refining your direction for sure ! :+1: i see some shadow box in the mix ?

Hi Gary,

That was shadowbox alright but I made it some time ago and just revisited it … the three or so above that are where I am heading for now. I am bringing in some of my photographs, so far mostly cloudy sky shots and using them as an image plane … it is interesting because depending how I Move the tool or which stroke I use tools get partially lost behind the image plane ( a good thing) , I then render (usually just a quick render) and then a lot of post in Photoshop!

Cheers, David
