How do you render that sculpt to look so cartoony, is that done in photoshop later. sorry im a rookie just seeking knowledge
i didnt do anything special. Just a basic render with different matcaps and light. I thing that the outline is giving that cartoony look. And of course the concept was cartoony to begin with and the flat colors gave a small touch in that direction.
Is there anyway you can look at my problem on my thread. I need someone experienced like you to take a look if possible.
Its a simple masking problem but Ive been stumped for two days, cant wait till i get past this lol, so much to learn.
New, old guy sculpt. Keyshot render using the finger print texture.Started from a sphere dynamesh64. Still a WIP
Your last figure, the NPR like one, is very good!
What about your last post? This is my favorite
@michalis Thnx man!
So this is the final render. I tried to do a sculpt of an old guy using e ref photo I found online. I know that my sculpt is not 100% the same, but hey, I’ll get there one day
Original image with some clay renders

That’s pretty damn good, but the pupils are way too small. Make 'em bigger, and the eyes will look calmer, like in the photo.
Another one from a sphere. no ref here just fooling around.
nagulov you’re right about the eyes. I have this thing and I always make them small. next time I’ll fix this Thanks!
Hi there, I was in vacation this month, so a new doodle. Not completed yet. This is a Thanos like alien, maybe a scientist from his world? who knows…
You’ve got some great work in here. Keep at it!
JL thnx for the comments man!
So I have a problem which helmet should I choose and detail. So I’m posting both and an image without. Of course I can leave him be without the helmet. I like his details so far around the face. Still a lot to do though. Anyway give me a hand please

The first one. The second one is really good but i don’t like the design you gave to the part that shows off the face, and the face, specially the chin conveys this guys uniqueness in a very distinct way.
So yeah the first one in this case is way better. Nice work by the way.
I would go with the second one as well. Third one covers to much of the great face and its details.
Thnx guys for the quick poll. I decided to leave it as it is. I like the head as well. I think I miss some of his character with a helmet on.
I posed him, but have to detail the body in that pose. Maybe in the final pose he can hold the helmet? Who knows… I decided to make a full body shot
of him since its been a long time since I did something other than a bust. Hope you like the pose. Still missing the costume of course.
In my personal opinion i think you should do a more serious pose for this guy. I’m glad you chose to give him no mask, to me face defines personality in a human character, and when static so does the position. I believe that the pose doesn’t correspond with that seriousness in his face with that image of suppressing emotions. Instead i think you should go for something more powerful a pose that shows that he is diminishing others. I tell you this specially because this guy reminds me of invoker from dota2 since it has a slightly similar armor. Don’t get me wrong but i’m specially referring to the raised leg.
Also as always Awesome Work!
Thanks for the tips and your opinion. It took some time to find a pose that I like. In my mind he is ready to deliver a ball of energy on a planet and consume it. So his done it again again that why he is so non emotional.
In my opinion anyway. I still have to do the armor and in that pose it might be tricky but I’ll get there. Done his upper body. The legs remain but after the armor, he might have boots. So it’s official this is my take on thanos one of my favorite bad guys.
Which is actually one of the nicknames that come out my Greek name. he he… Love the comments please go on.
Great,
And, a very nice study on anatomy.
Bravo Nasso
Hey Michali thanks for the kind words.
Another update. A sketch for the armour and a small progress on the actual sculpt.
Lets play some basketball
