Congratulations!! What a great sculpt. Thank you for sharing with the community.

Thanks Gabo1991!

Here is a little breakdown from the process. A commonly create cartoon characters from primitives and was wondering if I can apply same pipeline to any other figure. Every time I take a look on my kid, I was zbrushing in my head…I know I am an addict.

Was wondering that I could use same methodology to be able to recreate him and it worked. Everything started as single spheres which I re-shaped and placed.

Once everything looks “correct” I Dynamesh it, so I can start the sculpt. Must admit the sculpt became easier as most of the spheres already did the big job.

Hope this works to you guys!

Keep the zbrush fun!

Awesome subject with your last sculpt!

I’m loving the roundness of the shape

Sorry to revive this thread but i was just working on cloth and bumped in here. Great job mate im going to spend a little to read your workflow. Have a good one.

I am very happy to hear that! In fact I have had same question in the past in many cases and is always good when you find people eager to share their workflow

Thanks a lot for sharing this spheres - primitives - trick.
As obvious as it is inspiring, and I cannot but wonder why I never thought of this. Eyes of course: yes. But the rest…

Wow!

LOL, it took my a year to mee too. The fact that my son is chubby made me think about this workflow, then I realized I finished the sculpt way better and faster. Now for any head I just use spheres…no more base meshes :stuck_out_tongue:

I am currently finishing up some other pieces, trying to catch hyper-realism. Will share more sphere workflow for more complex head shapes

Polaris: Magneto’s daughter

Hi guys this is the statue I have been doing during my spare time for 3D printing. As you can tell from the title is Polaris, is not a well know character from the marvel universe, but when you are magneto’s daughter … well you might be someonw at the end ;).

She is good as far as I understand, not as her father. So and epic battle daughter Vs Dad is coming!

Hope you like it!

P.S: Below I will give some explanations about the hair and ground workflow

Hair workflow

For the hair I decided to work it out using several tubes combined with dynamesh. It took a while to get them right and have the proper flow but combined with dynamesh and the sculpt it gives the impression of movement.

She is supossed to be in action and so the hair should go accordintly…

beautiful form and gesture.

Thanks Rissta! In fact I was basing my poses on ballet dancer I found in Pinterest, at least the upper body

Very powerful forms and magnificent gesture!

Would like to share the final version from Polaris. Had to do several updates to match with the comic style. Hope you like it

It will be 3D printed in 1/4 scale

Very cool expressions and excellent execution. All three expressions work splendidly :+1:

Not bad!

That looks fantastic. Thank you for doing a break down of the hair. It’s amazing.

Could you do a break down of your render set up and materials too? :stuck_out_tongue: I’d love to see how you achieve that look.

Very nice posture. I like the expressions too. Very lively! :+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:

Glad you are liking it guys, I am very happy for it.

@Black-tooth: I have attached an image with the set up in 3DsMax. Is rendered in Vray with GI ON and a very simple Light and material set up.

Ask any question guys, I will be happy to reply it
