thanks disco stu _ I am using crocodile reference. and the unsharp mask (the lower one) has magnified the texture a bit. I planed on smoothing out a lower subdivision layer slightly. I planed on reworking the neck. more gator.

Darukin _ will do. I just have to “finish” it first. I have got some kinda flu bug right now, so it be some time yet.

Disco Stu_ thanks bud! Its better to keep it grounded into “reality”.

I crunched down the neck a bit, fattened up the teeth, and lengthened up the snout a smidge.

Ok. this one has a max blinn matcap from sathe on it.

I will keep it this color as a base tone for the remainder I’m going for the grey blue black crocodile scheme.

I gotta get back to these scales soon.

He is looking amazing, and I am in awe of your patience.:smiley: That is a ton of work,lol. I am really liking the croc style scales, it feels cleaner somehow.

Looking pretty good!!!
Now you have to beging the polypainting, I would encorage you to make a more contrast painting, the dinosaurs always give the chnage for a cool paintjob.

Very nice model(except some overblown scales here and there:)) , however you have a confusing rendered image:) I am not sure if this is your intentional result or not but here are my comments :slight_smile:

I really think that you should seperate him from the background. The render feels very very busy, like everything is high frequency. Too much details, sharpness and similar colors. I think that it is killing the potential of the model. Also current render totally destroys the proportion. I would say that keep that fog stuff away for now until you have some environment.
