I was one of the last to get ZBrush 4 so I’m not holding my breath this time.

Well pressing alt only pushes in the mesh this is what all this new zbrush release is all about actually
To be able to add geometry on the fly with dynamesh (additive sculpting) and cutting or carving in using booleans or clip curves (substractive) so there you go u have it
Is not true substractive sculpting is complex…it is used everydAy in industrial shape creation
And in real life sculpting every single roman sculpture has bee created subtracting so the technique exists for more than 2000 yeArs
Last but not least try using voxels (available in the industry for 15 years now and in 3d coat for a couple) with voxels u can press alt and make a hole all the way trough it not just push the mesh
Try it and u will understand what I mean
And yes without these sort of tools it is hard and time-consuming to do (this is why we need them!)
And yes zbrush main purpose is 3d concept sculpting therefore yes again you need total freedom
And no we rely less and less on 2d design in fact I haven’t seen a 2 d design in a while now… We sketch directly in 3d

I thought you where talking about a unique tool, but it seems your only talking about what’s already available. And yes I’ve used 3dcoat.

Zbrush isn’t just used as a concepting tool, far from it.
And I’m suprised you’ve not seen a 3d concept in a long time, esp with that job role typically being 2d illustrators

I believe in the past, they’ve started later in the evening here in Chicago. Obviously that’ll differ wherever in the world you are. At least there haven’t been any postponements and now it’s all dual-releases. It was tough back in the day being a Mac/ZBrush user and seeing all of the PC peeps get the cool new stuff first!

Every time my email dings I drop what im doing those in my household have got to be thinking I am goofy or will pretty soon here. NOPE not excited at all over heree no… :lol:
-I checked out all those images from the link just above I cant wait to voxel cut within zbrush! Was that last shot a before and after dynamesh being switched on because that I can tell is going to solve alot of problems for me. I can tell I will be revisiting old projects . awesome stuff !
