Mac & Zbrush 3 Thread

i personally don’t give a rats A$$ what was shown. Somebody needs to start talking to the several hundred people who have no doubt paid for a mac license that they don’t have. period.

Can’t wait to hear from you Aurick. Hurry back now…with a link to the download…pleaze?

Sculpt, Paint, Imagine eh? For now I’ll Sit, Stare, Wait…

Okay, 6:00 pm PT has come and gone. Counting down now, ten, nine, eight, seven, six…

Respectfully, if you know as much as we do, then you know absolutely nothing - Which I honestly find hard to believe.

What’s with all the teasing, I really don’t get it? Isn’t there someone who’s willing to be accountable?

I’m reminded of a few weeks ago, when I got the new iPhone. I arrived at the AT&T store a good hour or so before opening, to find a long line of people already waiting. While deciding if I wanted to join that line, I spotted a couple of the store’s employees arriving. So I asked how many phones they’d gotten in, which would give me an idea of whether it was worth waiting at that store. They didn’t know. Sometimes, employees don’t have all the information. Or even any information.

I work for Pixologic, yes. I oversee the forums and answer a TON of questions. I am part of the customer support team. I convey information whenever I’m able to. (Which is what I have consistently done for you in the past.) Occasionally I even find a little free time to actually use ZBrush. I am not one of the developers, though. Nor am I a decision maker. Sometimes I’m not even told that a decision has been made until I’m told to do something relating to it. That’s just the way that companies work.

Right on Aurick, well at least stay on board and let us know anything as soon as you find it out. There’s a lot of delay induced anticipation for news on the Mac release. I think it’s fair to say we should be informed of something after a day when the actual product is being demonstrated at such a big event. It’s not like we’ve been waiting…thanx for any input.

I work for a games company. Sometimes I am asked to build a model, they (producers) don’t even tell me what it is for. I build it. Then, without me knowing, I build the game and the character that I modeled is there moving around.

There is soooo much I don’t understand.

One thing that I do know. I know that I am still using ZBrush 3.1 and Autodesk is previewing Mudbox 2009.

Aurick don’t you think that maybe it’s about time someone with an authority resolve this issue??
Or maybe give an answer because as far as I understand this issue won’t be resolved.

Business 101,

Always reply to your customers.

If you don’t, they WILL shop elsewhere.

Then for all practical purposes, we have had no contact with the company at all, lo these many months! I had been under the impression that we were getting official tidbits from someone in the know. Instead, we have been stiffed by the company! This is insane, and absolutely intolerable!

I’d say he’s at least replying. Not with anything of value, yet, but at least he’s responding to the complaints. At this juncture, he will probably be the guy of authority to deliver any official news that becomes available, ASAP.

What would you have considered a reasonable time to wait? A couple minutes? A couple hours? Months? Years? If every single time you went to the AT&T store, you got no product, and no information, how long would you continue to go there? I think our situation is a bit more extreme than your trip to the AT&T store, to say the least. I’m not trying to single you out, but as Pixologic’s only voice here, I don’t know where else to turn. I think my request, and expectation for some information after so long is more than expected, don’t you?

Not only got no product, but paid for it and got no product!!!

aurick, you are the only one person from pixologic who talks to us, so you are a personification of the whole company. You receive all the frustration and anger, but don’t take it personally. After over one year of waiting without any response or explanation the people feel cheated by the company.

Yeah, Aurick is not Pixologic. It must suck to take all of the heat here. That said, can’t you make a phone call or send an email or something? You all do use computers don’t you?

I’ll leave you alone for now…

I’d say it would be considered unreasonable to go another day without relaying the demonstrated info at the booth to this thread. If nothing of value has been demonstrated yet, then oh well. I have a feeling that the presentations are the same every day because the event is so large, though. A sense of urgency from your employers would be nice in this situation.

I have a feeling things are about to get ugly. It’s a hour after the close and no update at all. If something doesnt happen by tomorrow I am going to cut my losses and move on to mudbox. This is unacceptable for any company. It is obvious pixologic has some development issues and this isnt going to be resolved in a week ,month or possibly another year and by the time it is mudbox will have yet another version out as it seems autodesk has the habit of issuing a yearly update to their programs. They are just more reliable than ZBrush and in the long term that’s what a designer needs. you cant make a career out of a program that will be obsolete in 4 years.

My guess is that Apple has something going on that Pixologic is under a NDA for, and this “something” is pivotal to the development of ZB for mac, hence the absolute silence. I’m just as much tired of all the waiting and wont give pixologic money for “ANYTHING” in the future without the product on the table first.

They’ve been in the public all day demonstrating the goods, there is no silence agreement. There’s just no open line of communication from Siggraph either. The silence is to avoid further rioting from missed release dates. I’m sure we’ll know something soon.

“soon”
In geological sense of timing??

Haha! Yeah I probably should’ve used another word there. “Soon” has a bad rep amongst the Mac ZB community, huh?
