The F5 key was news to me as well!!! I also watched some of the autodesk updates which all looked pretty great. I have an older version of motionbuilder and have always struggled to integrate it with Maya I would really love to update on both and see if I can use MB for animation. It always looks so impressive.
Anyone know offhand how much mudbox runs?
$795.00 for Mudbox
aurick just posted in another thread here so…
Man! That’s high-priced mud! Must have “color” in it!
(Old West slang for gold)
Won’t you come here, Bill Aurick
Won’t you come here?
We moan the whole day long
We’ll do the cookin’, fella, we’ll pay the rent
We know you done us wrong
Remember that February, you hung us out
With nothing but a “very soon”
We know you’re to blame
Now ain’t that a shame
Bill Aurick don’t burst our balloon
sung to the tune of ‘wont you come home bill bailey’? wow we are getting desperate
I am not at the show this year. At this point, you folks know as much as I do. As I’ve said before… as soon as I have some information that I can share, I will do so!
By the way, if I remember correctly the show closes at 6:00. That means that anyone from Pixologic who could provide more info is still at the show.
so about 30 minutes plus travel time.
As an Apple ][+ user (some small amount of time ago) I protest about being left out of this list! 46 months ago when ZB 2.03 OSX was released was about the time Apple ][s were popular, wasn’t it?
Being a user who paid for ZB 1.23 in 2002 and got a couple of free upgrades until they petered out two years later, it’s kind of difficult to complain. I’ve theoretically gotten my money’s worth from the original purchase, but at the same time I haven’t actually been able to use ZB in quite some time.
Previously I’d have happily paid upgrade fees if it would have helped them get their software out, except now I’ve waited so long for the next version (longer than I spent going through high school  ??) that it’s going to take a bit of effort to convince me that money given to Pixologic isn’t money recklessly spent.
While Maxon (Cinema 4D, my main CG app, which is why I bring it up) also remains silent about their development plans, that’s then balanced by new nifty things being released on a predictable schedule, for both platforms. They’re silent, which can get irritating to the users, but demonstrably trustworthy. Pixologic is both silent and…shall we say, “inefficient.”
If any version of ZB is eventually released for the Mac I’ll happily download and use it, but my inherent trust in Pixologic as a development group trying to do a good job has been completely erased. And unnecessarily so. When you have a plan going as awry as the ZB Mac situation has, leveling with your customers is the only option. Not being “the way we do things,” or being too shy to talk in front of people, or whatever the reason has been, is an excuse that common sense says just has to be abandoned if things go this bad. IMO this has been a much more grave mistake on their part than the delay and misleading "any time now"s have ever been. Almost anything is forgivable, if it’s someone that’s thought of as a friend. And almost nothing is forgivable, if it’s someone who shuts themselves away and acts like they’re too good to talk to you.
If Pixologic can just learn that lesson, then they’ll be all set. It’ll still take a bit before I’ll want to start giving them actual money, but the goodwill can gradually start to build back up.
(In the meantime C4D R11 is coming out, so I’m happy either way!)

awe come on Aurick, you know lots more than we do, you work there right? At least admit that you know what the deal is but you can’t or won’t spill it. I actually talked to Jaime on the phone last week and for a minute, just a minute he had me convinced that you guys might actually do the right thing by your mac users and give us some real news on the forum as a small thanks for spending so much fruitless time here, waiting for some morsel of news.
fooled again. shame on me.
Anyone said REFUND??
I like C4D too, but haven’t upgraded since 8.5, so I’d probably have to pay full price for R11. Then you also have to purchase the modules you need. Bummer!
Hey aurick, can you tell us why there are system requirements for ZBrush 3.1 - Macintosh? They’ve been there a while, and I never knew why.
ooh, a flanking maneuver, good show!
youve given them 4 years you can give em 4 more hours.
I can´t hardly understand the Pixologic P.R. ways. I have, between others, SILO; is a very cheap (only in price) modeling app, developed by two (2!) guys. They upgrade the app (MAC and Windows), suffer delays, make mistakes, generate bugs, correct those bugs, solve the mistakes and every week they have some status post, even when they have nothing to say (like this week, because they are busy with the show). They show great attitude, entusiastic, open and nice, worried about the customers and willing to make the best they can. I will pay for their upgrades even if i don´t use the software!.
And they are 2 guys… maybe Pixo is the only one?
I really don´t understand. With this silence Pixo just got ungry users, nothing else.
FelixCat
The fact that none of the news sites mention anything about zbrush seems to suggest nothing was shown so far.

Enfilading fire isn’t effective if your quarry is wearing Teflon armor. It hasn’t worked so far. I prefer a frontal attack, which is why I wish one of us were at that exhibition to raise a little heck. We’re in an accoustic shadow here.
