Mac & Zbrush 3 Thread

to be clear they said zbrush 3.5 would be shown at siggraph…nothing about it being shown ANYWHERE else…like on the internet or here on the forums…

maybe if was a lockout preview, like the stuff shown in past modo events or the autodesk stuff that was not streamed yesterday from ilm…

only the people who attend get to see 3.5???

that would start to make more sense in why there’s nothing been said heree or on the internet…

So, we’re all gonna get that promised email from pixo’ when they make the “announcement”, right??

The 3.5 was removed but still it says in the second paragraph:
a “sneak preview” of the upcoming version of ZBrush

http://www.pixologic.com/events/siggraph08/

I dont suspect that we will see the 3.5 info but somone who was at siggraph will surely post something about it. Since no one has I have to assume that it hasnt been shown yet. Or if it has the viewers havent gotten to the internet yet.

here’s the text>>

At the exhibition, Pixologic™ (Booth #711) will showcase the latest version of its 2D/3D Modeling, Sculpting, Texturing and Rendering software. Pixologic™ will also demonstrate new and innovative technologies, a “sneak preview” of the upcoming version of ZBrush, and address the growing challenges facing digital artists today.

so, nothing about 3.5…per se…and aslo nothing about showing a sneek peek at a new update anywhere else BUT siggraph…
we’re now relying on attendees who saw something to come here and post up what they saw/heard there…and the day isn’t done yet…i’d expect attendees returning to their hotels will post something after that have their tea!

I’m kind of curious as to why no one who is at SIGGRAPH has reported what they’ve seen. Did they really cast an NDA over the attendees?

unless many of the attendee’s are LIVING at the venue [they’re not btw!] they’d need to travel back to their hotel’s/homes first…have some food…unwind…look at their photos…then maybe…go on the net…

with the venue being on the west coastof the usa they are about 7 hours away…so near all will still be there…the live streams from sutodesk is still up…[i’m in the u.k btw]

If you guys have ever been to a big convention the last thing on your mind is running out and loggin into the web and posting a up to the minute news release. I been to several and usually it’s late that evening before anyone gets the time to post anything. The only other possibility is that somone called somone who posts. As far as a NDA. That’s all but impossible to implement. If my buddy signed it and then afterward called me and I posted it what could they possibly do about it.

Yes… but if there is a real announcement, Pixologic should have the page ready and poised with there finger on the button to publish the news to everyone… So why haven’t they posted?

One thing we have all learned from this is pixologic isnt really upfront with info. I wouldnt expect much if anything from them and be pleasantly suprised if you do get something.

This time last year there were videos of the pix events and it was all a much more open event that what we are presently experiencing. It is a shame that it seems left to the Mac section of this forum to wait for news of the new features.

you guys see this about the BSoD during the Olympic opening?

We are the Pixologic Mushrooms…kept in the dark and fed manure. With all they know about how we feel, the fact that we haven’t been informed of anything tells it all. Actually, we have been informed in a way–informed of their character. In terms of customer relations, I have never seen anything like this. Never. It’s positively breathtaking. The only thing that comes even remotely close would be the two month epic battle I had with Vonage. And that was only two months, not an entire year.

No news yet? amazing. Pixo has the worst P.R. system i have ever seen! I supposse we need to adapt the pipelines to Mudbox… if i moust to use windoze i refuse to use the app that forced me to take that route.

well i just wasted my day

4:40 PM Pacfic Time, day is just about over and yes I have wasted a good deal of it hitting the F5 key. blah!

Ooompa Loompa Doompa doopitee doo. grin

Very dissappointing. What a major turn-off

with a little luck we’ll have some people who went there post what they saw tomorrow even if pixologic don’t upload anything video/pic wise to the site or
make any press release.

i’m just happy that we had autodesk video feeds to watch!
mudbox 2009 looked really neat.

Well, the day wasn’t a total loss. I learned what the F5 key does. No, I didn’t know it before. …Hey, computers are complicated. I can’t be expected to know everything!

FelicCat,
You share my sentiments exactly!
