Wow, I’m sorry I feel a bit shafted after over a year of waiting for release which was implied as being a short time away.
I apologize for being frustrated. I’ll now resign myself to being a Pixologic apologist and go give them all free “handshakes” at their booth.
As for “true to their word” it’s almost laughable that anyone would even try to imply any sense of honor in this. Alot of people paid alot of money for a product that was being touted as not being far off, in february, and on and on. Pixologic collected and benefitted from that money. period. So we should have at least had the courtesy of regular and polite updates vs condescending, short remarks and closed threads when people started to get angry about a completely unacceptable delay.
I’m still hanging in there as a customer because I have already invested so much time in training videos for this app it’s ridiculous. I want to have some sense of appreciation here, so something freaking sweet needs be announced today.
I love what zBrush can do, but I want it on my mac and thats why I purchased it over Mudbox.

I think that Pixo should treat us all to a free Gnomon DVD… you know for not firebombing thier headquarters… sounds reasonable… won’t happen but the reasonable appears to never happen around here…

well, to kill time, they’re streaming the new mudbox demo right now live from Siggraph at the “AREA” on the Autodesk site. i know it’s not ZB, but it might keep you from going (more) crazy waiting for any shred of news from Pixo.

LOL!!! the guy doing the mudbox presentation live just now had it all freeze up and crash. man, that sucks! he was really at a loss for words. so sad.
hey anyone remember what happened last siggraph in regards to when the teaser video went up…was it after day 1?..or before siggraph opened up?
may get a handle on what may happen this year…

cinema 4d with maxon bodypaint as standard is a pretty powerful set up. May not be ZB but texturing, painting and displacement tools are top notch

This should be the tagline of every future Pixologic release.
I saw that!!! It was kind of hilarious! I felt bad for the guy, he was just about to demonstrate the live rendering effects in the view port I think, and had to can the whole presentation! “ABORT! Play the cool video!” (which really was awesome if you missed it by the way)
He should’ve just passed off the crash as a feature of the program:
“And watch carefully as we add more details using the stamp tool. Even at such a high subdivision level we can manipulate the object in real time. Now, get a load of this, I am going to enable the coolest new feature of Mudbox. We just click this button here… and… the entire screen turns blue. Yes, we’re introducing a new tool to the industry: the blue screen of death. And the best part, yes, it’s erasing my hard disk. See, it even says so right here. Isn’t that just swell?”
If Siggraph does come and go with not one single word on a mac version, then what’s the point in waiting around here just sitting on our hands, and hoping for a miracle?
I’ve wasted so much time waiting already, it’s maddening! Why not lobby Autodesk, and show them we would be seriously interested in a mac version of Mudbox? Would they treat us any worse than Pixologic?

I dunno about that. It’s well known that Microsoft invented the BSoD. I think they’d get cross if Autodesk tried to take credit for it.
